the SIII looks too ugly. textures are below meh, looks too much like stock. and lots of lag, looks unplayable on my computer.

That's not the reason, we just don't think swords belong in h1.

Which they don't. The sword is a snipers nightmare in Halo 2. In halo 1 it's about as useful as a rock.
