    Music Rocksmith

I could have sworn I had made a thread about the franchise already, but apparently not)

So you may have heard about Rocksmith, and more recently Rocksmith 2014. First they were on the consoles only, with guitar only, then they added bass and PC support.

Now, it's been leaked, that mobile (at least iOS) support is coming in the future: http://www.theriffrepeater.com/rumou...-2014-for-ios/

I wonder if this means they're porting uplay to mobile platforms too

Serious question: As a musician, what is the purpose/motivation of using something like this? I am happy people are starting to use real instruments instead of pretending to play with a plastic Guitar Hero guitar..

The game itself seems to be using the actual tabs for the songs that are on it. Compared to something like Guitar Hero, you're actually learning to play the song instead of just tapping five buttons and strumming. I find that the game is great as an actual learning tool.

This sounds freaking awesome! I'd love to pick up guitar again with a game like this...

Thread is just more Korn propaganda to hate on UPlay

When I started my second attempt at learning basic guitar, Rocksmith 2013 really helped and 2014 is even better. Seriously a decent learning tool, but as with any instrument, nothing can replace the experience of a private instructor.

    Re: Rocksmith

I play guitar for almost 8 years now. I stopped using tabs years ago because they were often not very accurate. I know this game does not have this issue which is great.

I think though that something much more important than a private instructor (just had one for classic guitar when I was 8 years old) is motivation and I guess this is the key point of this game: Giving you motivation to pickup your guitar. Though after some time you should stop using tabs and listen out the notes, this helps immensely!!

Since it went on sale yesterday for about 15 bucks, I decided why not and picked it up. Now, to get both the attachment and my guitar (which... is in california, i'm 2 states away...)

Cable is expensive. Download the analog line-in fix. Probably not as good, but works good if the line-in isn't being raped by interference.
