Also, thanks Dole, I can see some major differences in our screen. It also seems as though bungie has updated the ARs textures since the beta. I went off the new Halo 3 campaign pic, and it has more details in the bump map.

Yeah, I was considering throwing that picture somewhere into one of the comparisons along with some select stills from Starry Night, but I stuck with what ended up going in just to maintain consistency in the angle and design... the continuity of the MA5C's silhouette has evolved continuously in the past few months, with the Starry Night iteration being almost completely unique on many different levels.

Man I was planning on buying halo 3, writing $60 off for what looks like the game of all time. But if its goin to make me throw up every 5 minutes, maybe I should get splinter cell instead.... lol

But seriously, I would have never guessed that pic was from the beta. Was it really that bad? I was looking at screenshots on bungie, and I was looking forward to getting those graphics onto my HDTV...

Well, with a console, you are usualy a fair distance from the TV, so you don't notice the minor detail as much, so being at a higher res than 512 isn't an issue. Though, seeing as halo 1 was for xbox 1 and halo 3 is for Xbox 360, and uses the same res bitmaps is a bit odd.

The weapon's don't matter so much, but I REALLY thought the Halo 3 Chiefs bitmaps would have been at LEAST 1024. Seems there still at 512. :/ The chief looks...exactly like he does in Halo 2, judging from the new screenshots.....

I don't care what anyone else says, he looked ALOT better in the E3 06 teaser.


Also the AR is nearly finished. I passed out yesterday morning from lack of sleep, rofl. I'm working on it again now, should be all finished in a couple hours (still gotta uv ad skin the clip).

Hmm I thought they would at least use a 1024 bitmaps for MC........take away the shininess of the entire thing and yah he would look like H2s chief.......

Just finishing off the Halo 2 Vista version, wich is pretty much non dynamicaly shaded. All the CE one is, is just fake bumps, shadowing and fake glow from the lights, wich will take a whole 60 seconds to do once I've finished the texture.

also shit, while typing this I just remembered I've still gotta do the clip /roflowned
