Yeah, Holy crap- that button is the coolest thing ever. And it does sound like the gameplay for SP at least will be identical, and other than assassinations, it is implied that the MP is the same. Though that's fairly fuzzy at the moment.

To clear some things up: Halo Anniversary is the halo 1 engine with improved graphics, it uses the same physics and balance as halo 1.
There is no Halo HD multiplayer, the multiplayer you are seeing is the MAP PACK of halo 1 based maps for Halo Reach that will be included with the game. It is unclear at this time if the maps will come with the full reach multiplayer or just an installer for the pack.

More conjecture: I'm thinking that, if HA10 is going to be packaged like ODST, that the CE portion of the game's engine IS Blam 1 Plus, basically ye olde engine plus improved shaders, and network support for cooperative play. The gameplay footage "feels" like Halo 1 pacing, with "floaty" vehicles and characters, and I saw a couple instances of "air swimming" on deaths instead of ragdolling (1:51 when the elite dies from the needler, for example), not to mention that every time an elite dies it's an animation, not a limp ragdoll.
GIVEN THAT MY CONJECTURE IS TRUE, all I can think about is how much different HA10 map cache files are from Combat Evolved XBox/PC/CE ones...
