I saw everyone else's awesome pics so I decided to show what I got bored and drew a second ago. I tried adding in the sword, but it sucked so I erased it. :X Also, I'm not too keen on shading, as you can see.
So, uh, nothing special, but everyone else was having so much fun posting drawings of hands. :haw:

that's REALLY easy to UV. it's got the topology of a plane, so don't even have to get any drastic deformations. fuck, wouldnt surprise me if it could all be auto-unwrapped almost perfectly.

some wall panels i've been working on for da new map.
actually, i've really just been making all the cracks and shit.
thing is, they all need to be more or less interchangable/modular, so have to make sure all the borders align properly.
this is about an hour's worth of good work. makes me wonder what the fuck i was doing the rest of the day. :/
man, i'm still amazed at the polycounts i can work with for UT3, i'm going to have to do some major adapting for that, but i think i'll like it alot when i get the hang of working with these kind of polycounts.

That one took quite a bit of planning and work tbh. The actual bitmap is only a quarter of that whole circle, I just made a quick mock up for the full look of it. It's for this big circular middle section part on me and tweeks map.

Did a render of the proper texture. As you can see there are lines where it tiles, but after working on it's tiling for about 30 minutes to make sure it tiled fine, I'm POSITIVE it's just my shitty quick unwrap.
Allthough it is pissing me off >:U You can't just do the offset thing with this. You've gotta make the sides of the texture represented by this ---------------> l _ tile.
Normally you'd unseam the opposite sides of each other:

Not too tricky, but it's a lil bit harder. Pretty much involves copy pasting the detail layers into halves and flipping them so the desired sides tile, but in doing this, the middle of the detail layers are now fucked up so you've gotta fix that up. Kinda tedious, because the only way you can test it is to constantly rotate and paste and flip the whole texture against itself on a larger canvas.
Ooh... any Mayan/Aztec inspiration there?

Still, it's very nice looking, and what's so bad about placing bases found everywhere on halo (as long it isn't crazily overdone)?

this is the BSP from the Halo level, after the tunnel.
the top right bit where he put the round bit is where usually the area is filled with boulders, you can see the outcropping of land that you find the marines on.
it's well enough modified, but that's besides the point.
if it's used to make something original, it's totally fine imo. just pointing it out for the people who won't notice themselves.
i like this, but it can still use form extra work. for one, you'll need to get rid of the tunnel, or nobody will use the outer path. (if this is an MP map, wich i guess it is)

I had to go into the level and view it in wireframe to convince myself. My powers are growing weak.
Some good set of eyes you have their Tweek, your right i was originally just going to convert the entire bsp so in effect just doing a sp>mp but there were alot of unused areas so modified the bsp to my liking.. i guess i should have pointed that out, although i didn't think many people would notice :awesome:

ye, people will just cut trough there, and not bother with takign the large corner.
if you can, divide that area in 2 heights, and give the high ground a bit of an advantage.
can you take a proper render next time, also, forerunner wall is so/so.
Cool-ish. The little thumb hole could be smoother. It distracts from the clean looking bits of the rest of the gun.
Made another foregrip for it. Meh, I dunno yet. It's kind of hard to make it go into a front sight because I made the receiver so thick. It was really meant to match up to the original foregrip I made for it. Also, there's not a lot of detail I can think of yet, especially since I put the cocking lever on the receiver and cba to move it to the top of the gas chamber. I'm still going to keep working on this foregrip though it doesn't quite meet expectations. 4544 tris, though it's a hell of a lot of cylindrical stuff.

Just rendered that on a box. It's basically a fuckingly huge floor tile. It'll only tile like, 2 - 4 times at the most in a given space.

My first ever Texture ™
Laffle, that is my first ever thing painted from scratch in photoshop ever. Good Ole October 06.
Good story behind it. Before I did that, all I knew how to do was the colour change tool, doing shitty Halo PC stuff. Masterz remembers :P
I was on the old cmt boards one day, and joked in a thread, "yeah I'd like to join the team as texture dude".
Then, Teh Lag sends me "a strange rainbow image with lines all over it" and I was like, k? Took me 4 days, pretty much learned photoshop while doing it. Both him and Masterz were also joking, thinking "rofl what a nub lets see what he gives us back".
I sent them the texture, along with a multi map.
I got signed to the team, (been working on CONSTANT SHIT FOR EVERYONE YOU ASSHATS GIVE ME A BREAK:gonk:) and a year later, here I am :D
So basically, I thank Teh Lag for giving me the chance to get my ball rolling, and I thank everyone who ever gave me good crit for pushing my envelope on what is awesome and what is complete shit. <333333
Nevertheless, the texture is sooooooooooooo crap but it makes me appreciate how far I've come in the space of a year.
Very far:
I'm not doing this to gloat, I'm just showing what effort and persistence at a goal can do. As cliche as it is, never ever give up.
