That's been around at least since Oblivion, probably before since Bethesda likes to port all the old books forward with each new release. Can't believe you've never seen it before, there's a shitload of them laying around Skyrim.

The aliens in that part of the game are degenerate, and are blind and explode on contact. They are attracted to sound. Apparently, that's actually one of the better levels in the game since it's the only one that isn't run-n'-gun.

The final product is reminding me of that Starship Troopers game that came out several years ago...
