Re: Halo: Anniversary - The Halo 1 remake (fuck anyone who calls it "halo ce" remake)
Angled ring? Do you mean how the Halo looks flared in the title screen? I'm pretty sure that's just a camera distortion of some sort. As the camera flew around, the effect seemed to lessen and disappear. I strongly doubt they would have modeled it any way other than it has traditionally been modeled. I think that was a stylistic tweak of the viewing angle to make the shot look more interesting and convey a better sense of scale.
If that's not what you're talking about, I have no idea what is. The skyboxes look kosher to me. They even switched back while looking up and it more or less matched.
Re: Halo: Anniversary - The Halo 1 remake (fuck anyone who calls it "halo ce" remake)
Hahahaha, love you Dee
Edit: @Burke, yeah, I was curious about that too, the position of the ring in the skybox is the same from what I could see.
Re: Halo: Anniversary - The Halo 1 remake (fuck anyone who calls it "halo ce" remake)
Ejburke: the ring doesn't go straight up into the sky, it looks like. It goes up at a kilter. The skyboxes themselves look awesome, it's just a minor detail that makes you go "hrm."
Re: Halo: Anniversary - The Halo 1 remake (fuck anyone who calls it "halo ce" remake)
Where? Like give me a time in that video where you can really see it.

You're complaining about something not making sense gravity wise on a artificial ring world which has no way to trap the atmosphere to the barometric density that it has...
Am I the only one who is seeing the futility here?
Re: Halo: Anniversary - The Halo 1 remake (fuck anyone who calls it "halo ce" remake)
you know these rings could TOTALLY support an atmosphere.
if the edges had a mountain range high enough to keep any air from leaking out, so to speak, that would be sufficient.
besides, it's a game, and they have a machine that fabricates air inside the ring so any atmosphere that leaks out gets replenished, and they also have air-magnets installed all across the ring to keep the air stuck to it.
your argument is invalid.

Given that Guilty spark had an infatuation with blowing the surface off of his ring I'm surprised it even has any surface let alone an intact atmosphere.
O-wait you wouldn't know about that would you?

It's the way of Modacity, my friend.
