Even though it's better then I could ever do, it still looks like a toy, Ganon.
Then again, I suppose this isn't a very useful post considering that everyone else has already said this. D:
Oh, and the grip on the grenade launcher looks beyond uncomfortable.

why, OH WHY didn't you make that BOX first, at least you would have not wasted all your time on making a more or less useless model.
theres limits to normalmapping.
a normalmap cant make a box MAGICALLY look like a gun by making a bad meshsmoothed model

again, because you've got no clue of what you're dealing with here, you're all wrong. a normalmap doesnt magically turn a 90 degree angle into a nice curve.
you seem to have no idea what normalmaps do, and WHY.
you need to research stuff more before you spend your time on making thigns like this. do the tutorials as the tutorials say you're supposed to do it. if it sais, make a BOX, then make a BOX, not a gun.
edit: also, the box in the minitutorial you posted is NURBS.

Anyway, I started the diffuse. It still needs more scratches and stuff, but I think it is coming along alright. Not as forerunnerish as I originally thought, but it doesn't matter. I guess I'll keep experimenting around to get a taste for the forerunner style. So anyway, what do you guys think? =p
e: I think it specifically lacks other lines in the other areas that I would put into the specular. Look at dano's sig and you will see what I mean.
I couldn't care less if thats not forerunner, thats awesome just the way it is. Everything doesn't have to look halo'ish to be in halo you know, it's called creativity and originality. Oh course it could be improved, but still...
