Motion controller tech demo was awesome. Finally somebody did it right; I hated how the Wii made one use a set of preordained motions instead of the motions being completely up to the player.
This is, if not up to par with MS, damned close.

Anyways, Microsoft and Sony's motion techology looks spectacular. My god the possibilities. I knew when I first saw the Wii that it was just the beginning, and other companies would improve on what they've done.
I was completely blown away by Sony's conference though. Their line-up of upcoming games, exclusive and not, along with their motion capture technology, could very well be the revival of the PS3. This may give me a reason to get a PS3 in the next 2-ish years. Uncharted 2 looks very good, I've never played the first but now I'd like to. Not to mention GoWIII, my god.
E: And that Modwhatever Racing game looks really cool, like a Trackmania on steroids, which is a very good thing if you ask me.

I think most likely that the game will be with Covies, but I the trailer seems to point to me in the opposite direction. I just don't see how it can be Covies based on the trailer and the established timeline. Unless the new game is going to retcon the books.

Yeah, ask anyone with half a brain how the POA could possibly fly in an atmosphere (or SoF, even though it does). Granted, it's a series that contradicts itself at nearly every turn, so this whole "argument" about how ships can fly in atmosphere is pointless.
My theory is based on the fact,
The trailer contradicts what we've been told about glassing.
The trailer contracticts what we've been told about Covie space flight.
The trailer contracticts what we've been told about the Battle of Reach.
Either
A. They are retconing the Battle of Reach.
B. It's a new threat.
C. The trailer is not designed to be an accurate representation of what happened, and is only there to tease at the concept of a game about the invasion about Reach.
I'd say A and C are most likely, but I do think it's interesting that they would make that many mistakes on purpose, while keeping information on the game completely from the the public. All we know is that it's going to be an FPS, and it's coming out around the same time as the first of the Forerunner Trilogy. Unlikely to be a radically different game than we've played, yes. Impossible no.

There could be another chain of event on Reach. We already know it has Forerunner sites on it. You're right, Bungie doesn't fuck with their fans, so what seems to be inconsistencies from the trailer are what make me think there is a lot more to this story than just "Covie invasion of Reach"
