Yet everything in the trailer points to what going on as not Covenant. We know about when the Covies attacked, and how it went down. There's no way to explain how there's no visible Covie ships, explosions on the planet (plus the fires in spots where there are no explosions), no Plasma bombardments, and an accurate Slipspace jump past the defense platforms which wasn't possible for either side pre-first strike, so unless the trailer is bat shit bullshit, I'm leaning towards a Forerunner, Precursor, or a new faction we haven't heard about. My best bet is Forerunner, seeing as the explosions on the surface could be some kind of defense system, which also resulted in something using forerunner tech to do the accurate slipspace jump.

Am I the only one who's seeing the explosions as caused by plasma torpedos?

I see explosions that look like plasma detonations, but I'm not seeing any actual projectiles.

Neither am I. What I'm seeing is that it starts as a normal explosion(from something hitting the ground?), and then the blue wave of a plasma explosion, then massive secondary explosions from whatever the plasma's hitting.

Do M4's have ophandles/bolts on the right side of them where AK-47 bolts are? Because if not, I don't think it is since the reload was like a fusion of the [CoD4] M4 reload and AK-47 charging.

probably the worst fucking guess since there's a human ship floating above the planet. How the fuck would you see a covie ship past the defense grid, above the dark side of the planet anyways? Everything said was human. Marines over-run? Sierra 259? Human ship? Spartans? Since when did the Forerunners ever attack a human colony world? Those blue flashes are likely plasma bombardment. The orange glow is because of the rapid rate things are obviously being incinerated.

M4 bolts are a T-shaped charging handle centered at the back of the rifle, under the carry handle and above the stock. This was probably one of those gross AK-wannabes with rails and an M4 stock.

You think i don't know that? I didn't see the AR in question. It read to me like there was a charging handle pull from the right side. PS that's a charging handle, not a bolt.
