Graphics are pretty good, on par with mw2. Gameplay feels like a clusterfuck on occassion and the enemy AI are dumb as fuck, but other than that.
its because the m40 receives a 5 point base damage boost when equipped with an acog scope. i dont know why the FUCK anybody thought that was a good idea, and i would wager nobody did since the m40 is the only gun that gets that benefit.
either way, the way the math works out, a shot pretty much anywhere with that 5 point boost will kill the guy youre shooting at. add stopping power and you can kill a player at full health with a foot shot.
on the topic of blackops, how is it so far? i mean im sure its going to take a little time for the novelty of the new stuff to wear off, but im interested to see opinions and comparisons to mw2 and cod4 in terms of gameplay, balance issues, and perks/attachments. im particularly curious to see how the new stuff in mp works out. did they finally figure out how to make a shotgun correctly?
Wow, I finally like CoD again.
Wow have times changed. Infinity Ward used to be the studio that made the good games and Treyarch made the terrible extensions, now IW makes a shitty first game and Treyarch makes its extension better than the base game.
Other then the fact my xbox is breaking its self from the inside out and I can no longer play BO on my only xbox, Black Ops has made it on my favorite list of the top 3 games ever.
Given you're not the type of person to pull this shit, I'd say give it a week until all of the overcompetitive profags find and abuse the fuck out of every glitch and nuance to break the game's design, flow, and pacing, leaving us with Modern Warfare 2.25.
I honestly hope you're not serious and just being ironic, posting from the point of view of every 12-year old that thinks Counter-Strike is the pinnacle of realism in warfare games.
You've got these games that're supposed to incorporate realism into a game, with things like aiming down sights, and human targets that are supposed to drop like flies when shot in the face. I'm well aware that total realism is damn near impossible, due to technical and physical limitations. But, consider this: if you ran into the fray with a bolt-action, high caliber sniping rifle and attempted to noscope headshot people in the real world, you'd be dead for being a colossal retard. If you attempted to quickscope, you'd probably end up driving the scope into your eye socket.
The whole point of sniping is to provide long-distance suppression. Anyone crying about a game that takes out elements that promote the use of snipers at close range (e.g. small interiors with no real long hallways) is simply retarded and should head back to Modern Warfare 2, Counter-Strike, or any "realism" shooter.
So I quit my bitchin and bought the game and it isnt as bad as I thought it would be.
Oh snap..
I'm still undecided if I want to buy it, I'm really not interested in the MP side, so the full price just for SP is pretty steep. Also the fact I want to buy Fifa 11, and NBA Jam when it comes out, money is getting scarce!
considering AC:brotherhood is coming out in like 7 days, im saving for that. ill give it 2 months, see what people are saying, and if blackops is really THAT great id have no problem trading mw2 in for what i hope would be a decent amount of credit toward it.
see what im really waiting for isnt so much the game breaking nuances (and im sure there will be plenty), but rather the 10th prestige hackers and the aimbots and wallhacks and whatever else.
