Might I recommend insetting and extruding inwards your scope just a tiny bit, to give it the look of plastic/metal around a lens. Also, the butt of the gun needs more detail in proportion to the front.Quote:

Also Katarn, where do you get the side refs of the gun? I've spent like an hour on google and I got nothing. And if you don't use side refs, how do you get everything correctly proportional?

Modern Firearms has a lot of stuff. The-Blueprints has some interesting things on it. Just google around for weapon blueprints or modern firearms or something to that effect and you should find somethng. Another good idea is to wiki in for example, sniper rifle or something like that and then look at the references and also the other links. Sometimes they have good stuff.Quote:

Both are still WIP, and the handle is too fat on the spiker, but those will hopefully go into Sigma's projects.
Assault Rifle looks good but the Spiker needs work.

your lighting is blobby, your shadows are weak, and using the same grunge brush 1000 times to add "damage" looks really bad. it looks like a bunch of white x's on the stock. the stock material is not supposed to be metal (if i recall what you said correctly) and the base that you painted looks hardly like metal or synthetics.
post a render of the skin on the model. i want to see that. don't forget to credit the author, either.
Unless it's rendered with that texture in the max scene, i really couldn't tell. Flats rarely give you an idea of how a texture really looks.
