Most dedicated servers on 1.00 are 1.08 dedi exe's modified to show up on 1.00 instead of 1.08. It also is set to not send the player cd-keys to gamespy. So blocking them on gamespy will probably do nothing.

Yeah, and that's why they should block those versions. Freelancer, make that another point. The majority of the servers don't even have the Gamespy validation, so blocking the keys is pointless. It's best to render those servers completely useless.Quote:

The reason the outdated versions have players is not because of piracy. It's because everyone would have to move at once or else they won't be playing with their friends, and the faggots are just too lazy to do that. If they're forced to all migrate at once, then the same population you see on the old version will be on the new one.
