yea, the grunts were always cannon fodder. never really lasted long, even on legendary. I take grunts much more humoriously then serious at all.
Blake, I'm sorry if I wasn't clear before : please dont' ask trivial questions like "is <x> done" or "I thought you weren't changing <y>." So, I see a30's Energy Bridge architecture. Outside. With UNSC and Covenant forces already engaged in battle. Sweet.
I see something that could use some improvement - the edge between the terrain and structure. I'd say just make the floor's skin fade to dirt, and the grass edge fade to dirt as well, so it can be made with an alpha channel and not have grass growing out of straight metal.
Those pics probably don't do it justice but that section of the level looks so wide open and big but it doesn't seem too intense in the sense of a large scale battle. It's either that or not many units are shown on screen. If that section is only supposed to be a brief scuddle with the enemy, that's fine. It'd be awesome to have air targets, as well, but it's probably not the focus.
ghost looks nice.
There's plenty of intsense battles, but you also need small ones as a breather as well.
The grass growing over the metal does look unrealistic, and unnatural, but it's like this in other maps bungie has done. From the start when we decided we were adding new bsps, we wanted to make them fit in visually with the rest, and not to make them extra extravagant. We're also super low on tagslots, so we don't even really have room to spare for extra shaders.
Edit: I was thinking you were lookingfor something alot mroe complex than just an actual ground map. The ground map will be one of the last things to be done. Conscars is going to have to get started on those sometime soon if he's up to it. If not we're going to need to get someone new on the team to do them,. There's over 20 new bsps, and around 13 of them are going to require ground maps.

Damn, that's looking quite nice, though there's something about the textures on the block things in the first pic (the ones behind the Brute) that make them look a lot less Forerunner, I think it might just be the thick black lines.

wonderful job my friend, sorry to be a spoil sport but it appears that the brute is "going commando" so to speak as that weird skin tight suit they wear is missing.
I am only pointing this out, I do no truly care if that is how the final product will look as most people will be focused on either
A) trying to stay alive
B)More focused on doing what "A" implies

Overall, that's pretty awesome. I think that some of the forerunner textures are a bit 'excessive' if you know what I mean. Too shiny/too many streaks.

Seriously, I even took that thing onto the dual-bridges above the second chasm. It was awesome to do that, but it's a good thing it got cut.
Other than its ability to fit through doors, it just made a cool light show when shooting its weapons inside - the slight randomness of its projectile paths combined with all of those forerunner multi-angled surfaces created some awesome projectile vectors.
God I feel nerdy - I just used the word vector in a sentence.

I'm just gonna say this, and take it anyway you want, but don't take it as an "I hate this, it looks terrible."
But I'm not sure if I'm all impressed by what I'm seeing, don't get me wrong, it all looks nice, but all the forrunner stuff looks too grey or something. I don't know, ignore this if you want... just kind of wanted to say that.
Still looking forward to this though.
Masterz, if you could, post some pictures of the Forerunner architecture on a larger scale. That huge wall in picture 3 just looks too bland. I want you to take some zoomed-out views of that area to either prove me wrong or give me something to go off of for suggestions. Thanks, and keep up the great work, CMT.

An early render of the wraith showed a body without a turret (and a couple turrets without a body). Will we see like half made Wraiths on any ships or Covy bases, or was that render just to show off the wraith?

I'm pretty sure it was just to show off the Wraith, because I doubt that they would waste a tagslot on something insignificant like a half-built Wraith that you can't use.

Brick = Pelican physics. Where is the sparrowhawk used exactly? Like a mission where your flying through canyons or over a field or something?
