well, I can't help but be reminded of the fact that a large portion of Covie tech is reverse engineered from Forerunner tech, but you're right, there still should exist a strong stylistic distinction between the two.

I think its because the Forerunners were the precursor to humans...or that their is time travel involved, which I am actually pretty hopeful it is.
I kind of liked not knowing what the Forerunner looked like. Added a nice mystery to it. Stop killing the magic! :p
I didn't say Tech = aesthetics. By Forerunner technology, I meant whole technology. Whole guns, whole vehicles. Sure the Covenant might have changed the Forerunner armour to fit their races, and they might have purposely chosen the shiny blue colour of the plasma rifle, but it's entirely possible that other than mild alterations Forerunner equipment looked very much the same. Because again, technological alteration = heresy.
I call modeling it! Bipeds are fun. :D
^Teh Lag ftw
Teh Lag can model it if he wants. :v I'm still going to model it, unless of course, Dane is going to model it. :O
I may just. I was thinking of learning zspheres and zbrush with it.
Also, Pooky has nailed it on the head in terms of the direction I was taking with this thing. It's going to be covey like, but more the anatomy of a "being" that is a mix between elite and human, with more angular edges and more circuitry like details not unlike the sentinals. MY concept is a bit too curvy, granted, but when modelling time comes, It'll actually be a bit more edged and defined, and not clean and well kept like covie stuff is. Very ornamented and will also try to incorporate holograms into it somehow.
Also, I've been learning Material Expressions in Unreal Ed 3, made a nice forerunner texture material, heres a jewtube
Seriously, UE3 owns so hard it's not funny.
