Looking pro. Hey out of curiosity, does your motion tracker actually fit the shape of the outline? It looks like it, but I'm curious how you got it to do that if you did.

Kind of. The blips are still positioned planar to the viewing screen, as opposed to the oblique motion sensor bitmap, but they fade in and out at the edges.

I think he means an ammo meter embedded in the scope outline. I'm not sure, but I think that's possible with HCE.

Unfortunately, it isnt possible. There isnt a way to isolate a meter element to only render while zoomed. I've already tried several ways, but none really worked out.

I'm relatively sure that Wave of Lag accomplished this. Not only this, but it spun counter-clockwise and diminished with ammo count.

One thing bothers me, why is your radar range 15M instead of h3's 25M?
The actual reading range of the radar can be easily adjusted aswell, I did that a long time ago, so that can't be the reason

I know that the HUD is based off Halo 3's, but that doesn't mean that something as trivial as the motion tracker range should be changed. Does Halo 1's motion tracker not actually have less range than the Halo 3 one?

I rendered multiple motion sensor bitmaps for different ranges, ~5m to 150m (which are all present in the bitmap tag), I just ended up using halo's original 15m. It can be changed easily though.

Not sure what animations you mean, but you could sort-of animate it by making a font tag, place it on the hud, and when its unzoomed make it use an empty char: when it's zoomed just let the script scroll through all chars each tick while it's zoomed in, sorta how gif anims work lol.

Have you played Halo 3/ODST? When you zoom in with the Carbine, 4 little marker things move. Hard to describe without you seeing them... but yeah.

Also, it looks like projectiles were ejected from the explosion, with flames attached to it?
The smoke is a bit fast though.

That's what im wondering. Until I saw that I thought I had it pegged down as for how he was going about accomplishing this effect. I experimented with flame grenades for a time using projectiles which emerged from the detonation effect and traveled a short distance before detonating and causing flames, attempting to accomplish the "spreading" effect of real fire. Also, for whatever reason that you have a weapon spawning in the middle of the flame, couldn't you just change the label to avoid getting the HUD prompt to pick it up?

I believe I understand how the firebomb you made works.
You made it so when it collides with anything, it instantly sets its particle state to "birth" and one big fire is created. Out of that big fire shoot out 3 smaller fires at an angle. However, it looks like these fires are either actually weapons with no models, or just a hud info error.
Did you make the fire particles yourself? Cause they look good (I am sure you can make it look even better :P)

Looks alright (which is great for fire in CE, cause it's a bitch to get any fire that doesn't look like complete ass in CE).
Might look better if you toned down the smoke- it suffers a bit when the smoke particles overlap with the flame particles up close.

I've never seen the firebomb in action in halo 3. Does it set someone on fire if it hits them? What kind of damage would it deal if it did? I would hope that it cuts into their shield quite a bit and impair their ability to see properly.

The silencer on the shotgun makes the gun a bit too bulky, but I liked the feel of the silencer(the main barrel) on it. Couldn't care for the sights much.

In the damage effect, you can have a color effect that appears on the screen. So instead of white for normal playing, it would be a bright orange.

I like the idea, but on the topic of attachments, I'd prefer a bayonet attachment over a shotgun attachment. I've always wanted to see one on the battle rifle or assault rifle.

I just retooled the halo 3 animations to fit it (base battle rifle; shotgun for secondary fire). I'm working on my own animations atm.
