Look WAY better than Halo explosions. But I think it could do with a explosion sphere thing which Halo 3 has. And maybe some more smoke mixed in.
Needs to look like a more powerful explosion as well, so it could with something like a star shape which you had in the muliplayer CMT maps explosions. And some more sparks?

Meh they're ok but it doesn't seem like a real explosion... IDK something about it doesn't seem right.

It's okay but makes some mistakes many games do.
A little too much fire too spread out. Perhaps trying to concentrate the color a bit more instead of spreading the burning parts of the explosion all over the place?
You're probably already doing this but look for copter explosions and compare.
It was never meant to be realistic, and as far as edits the only thing that can be really done is edits to the bitmap, which I think looks fine. Particle systems can't be controlled as much as they can be manipulated into working. Bungie completely abandoned them as they were in H1 for H2.
^ Yes. I've tried to make decent explosion particles, and I was fucking around in the particle system tag for hours and I could never get it right. That looks actually pretty decent.
Although it looks like someone actually engineered the explosion, I don't think you can get much better than that. I'd make it a little more natural.

Ignore the decal mishap on the last pic.
Which scope do you think looks best, and if you don't like any of them, we want ideas on what can be done to make them better or examples of other aim assists we may want to look into. The last pic will be a red dot scope if we chose to use it.
