Course we could toss all this aside and say that this takes place in a fictional future where the weapons don't make sense. Remember the whole 15 rps thing with the AR?

Judge the barrel's gauge when a marine is using it, not the Master Chief. Of course it is going to look small on the Chief.
Also, the way it is loaded does not match a dual-tubular design. A system inside that allocates the shells to one side or the other would theoretically be too complex and prone to breakage.

Ok, who cares if it is 8-gauge or 12-gauge, it still kicks ass and gets the job done.

wait, in Spv2, are you guys (CMT) gonna use the h3 style/skin and audio/bullet effects?

They are probably going to use their own sounds and stuff, but who knows?

Judging by the scale of the gun itself, it doesn't look 8-gauge. Plus, 3rd person models in Halo are scaled up, even when marines are holding them. As for the impracticality of a system to allocate shells to either tube, come on. It's a video game, and it's set in the future. If it's dual tubular with a single loading port, then it's dual tubular with a single loading port.

Somewhere between the H1 shotgun and the H2 shotgun. Slightly more range and power than the H2 shotgun, but slightly less than the H1 shotgun. 6 shots.

Think of the Halo 2 shotgun, now change the sights from green back to blue, and add a laser sight (I have no idea why Bungie put this on) on the left side in between the magazine and barrel.
I can't find a picture of a marine holding a shotgun, but looking at the size comparison in-game, the shotgun is almost as long as he is tall. There's no way it is 12-gauge. It has to be at least 10-gauge.

That is the shot gun's loading port bitmap--no modifications. I extracted and uploaded. Now, tell me you don't see "8 guage" =p. That settles that.

Remember, scaled up in third person.
Rooster, we're not talking about whether it says 8-gauge or not, we're talking about how the heck it could be 8-gauge.
