I'm fairly sure a Corsair 620W or a decent 650W+ could do it.
I'm fairly sure a Corsair 620W or a decent 650W+ could do it.
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Yes it could... Badly... I wouldn't want to risk using a PSU that small with all that in a rig, but I'm pretty sure it [i]could[/u] run it. Personally, I always buy substantially larger PSUs than required so that I don't need to worry about "running out" of power.
epic fail lulz
You people don't realize how much power 600 Watt in real life really is. You have no real comparison it's all relative.
600 Watts....600 Joules per Second. That's the energy you need to lift 600kg one square meter accelerated in one second. Non of you ppl out there could create this much power/energy.
Warning: huge pictures
Old rig (specs in profile) that I just sold. Pics taken before cleaning up room ;)
So when's the 30" LCD coming :awesome:
So you've got 2 rigs, 2 hi res monitors, a laptop, 2 HD TVs and a Xbox, right? Nice.
:O Now I know whyH2VistaModacity is always short on funding! Ghosty's been skimming it off the top to spoil himself with fancy computer hardware! Shame on you, Ghost!
:P
:smithicide: OldDragon gets messier when he isn't on Fire.Dragon04
Needs more FireDragon
*offtopic none computer picture*

Apologies for OldDragon's current state, since he turned 18 and discontinued FireDragon04 he has gotten messier and less fun...i meen less fun? how is that possible...its FireDragon OLDER ffs! lolololol
Fuzzy Pictures :maddowns:
Wow, nice setup FD. I'm diggin' the glass desk too.

What peni-
OH, that, one. Ok.
My computer, is aging =( not playing much games, so the hell with all you people with the new crap!
But it's so... Snake like
SsssSsSssss....
I just installed my new RAID array (Raid 0) with two 500gb drives, which now works as a 1TB - NVIDIA STRIPE drive.
Anyone else tried RAID arrays before? This was my first attempt and it was pretty easy. This new 1TB Raid Array works as my capturing drive for HD (Intensity Pro) and is my second drive. My main drive and my external (500Gb) work as my saving/OS drives.
im going to buy a new monitor soon, pics will come after i get paid a few more times.
Ok, im going to post about 4 of the computers in this house and there specs with proof. I had like 10 people saying I dont have it or im lieing. Ill get inside pics later and maybe take pics of my other 4 computers. NO, I dont buy them, but my sibs do. I have 8 sibs.

Holy..Shit...Welcome to the forums bro..
Welcome fearleet.
WHAT AN ENTRANCE
He's obviously lying, you see how he said "I had like 10 people saying I dont have it or im lieing"? Well, he DOESN'T have it, it's his siblings (who probably work, no doubt) and not him... The way he said it makes me think he tried to tell his interweb buddies that HE owned all that stuff, when really he doesn't.
WAY TO LIE YOUR WAY INTO THE FORUMS!
Okay okay... Just kidding, Welcome to the forums man. What's your street address again btw?
Wow, nice setups there Fear1337, and welcome to the forums. I hope you enjoy your stay here, and become a well appreciated member.
Cripes, we need a sticky describing the awesome power of the [shot] tag for new users.
Also, why the display clone in the first pic?
If I had a remotely good camera atm, I'd take a new pic of my spare-parts box from a year ago (which I'll finally be bringing home, at which point there will most definitely be pictures; specs are actually pretty awesome for spare parts: 2GB DDR RAM, 1.8GHz P4, 500 Watt totally underused power supply, GeForce FX [forgot the exact number, but it's old-school PCI to put things in perspective])
Are the Logitech diNovo keyboards any good? They look to thin and breakable to me... You actually game on that 52"? I'd never want to game on anything over a 38" full HD (at least 1920x1080) TV...
I like this kid :D
Also, Love the new ordering of the index!
Me and killa did something to show that I do have what I say I do. I didnt film everything, but something to show I do and I am not lying. lol.

There we go, I know its boring, but enjoy :D
Why the heck are you on this crusade to prove something that doesn't need to be proven?
I have no idea, lol.
Yea, you obviously didn't comprehend my post... I said that "you" don't own it all, you're siblings do. Which you confirmed is true.
I believed that you actually had access to it... It that hard to accumulate that much computer/entertainment hardware if you spread it out over multiple people... I have a couple cousins (brothers) that have similar setups in their homes...
Of course I dont own it all, I own the ones in the living room. But I ussually play games on the others too.
^same
Some things about my moniter:
One, it's actually going for more like $550 these days, but I bought it when it was new.
Two, it's a powered USB hub, providing 6 more USB ports to my computer
Three, it's a multi-card reader
Four, the brightness, contrast, and evenness of color are outstanding for a monitor of that size- when you put it next to the monitor of the same size and resolution that my bro bought for $200, you can really see the difference
Five, it has VGA, DVI-D, Component Video, S-Video, and Whatchacallit yellow co-ax video inputs, and I use all of them except s-video.
Six, it has built-in picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture, which puts all those inputs to even better use, especially when I'm playing on my xbox but want to have my desktop available too. (Yes, my xbox is hooked up to my monitor, and it's a thing of beauty)
And Seven (naturally), this thing is sturdy as fuck. There's not much you can do to protect an LCD screen, but beyond that it's invincible. The stand is very stable and easy to adjust, and the case is rock-solid.
So, yes, you guys payed considerably less for a monitor of similar size and resolution to mine. But you get what you pay for. This monitor costs more because it's better.
How's that for "I'm better than you because I have all this stuff", eh?
I feel sublimely elitist and smug now. :)
What monitor do you have Rob? I'd like to take a look at thatmonsterbeauty.
Enjoy your input lag.
I have no idea what you're talking about.
Becuase your specs say you have the 2407.
Not that i'd expect you to notice it anyways.
yeah, i said i got an earlier version. so what? what do you mean by "input lag"? I'm curious now.
Some displays have a noticible delay from scaling or other processing being done internally. Like so, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi2OE6hSh00
Not much of an issue in anything but shooters and consoles.
I haven't noticed anything on mine. Maybe I should set my displays to "clone" and test it.
Yeah, that's a complete non-issue with mine. There's no visible lag whatsoever, except when switching between display modes, which is to be expected. It is by all practical measures a gorgeous monitor.
My friend games on a 27ms (yes, that's not a typo) response time LCD, and he does it well with no complaints.
My 24" has a 5ms response time, and I can "just" notice a difference between mine and his (clone mode).
pixel response time has nothing to do with input latency. Pixel response time is the measurement of how fast it takes for a pixel to change from one color to another, not how fast the signal takes to be displayed on the monitor. A faster pixel response time will get you less ghosting, but not much else.
Where the fuck is input latency listed then?
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Product...17409(ME).aspx
Get 'splaining.
It's never listed... up to you to find out what it is :)
Yeah, they totally pull the wool over your eyes and hope you don't notice.
Well, I have no issues what-so-ever so I don't even care.
It's odd, when I play Halo 3 on my monitor, the input lag is unbearable. But when I play Call of Duty or any other 360 game it's fine.
It's because YOU FAIL.
I think it has something to do with the fact that Halo runs at an artificially increased resolution.
The upscaler in the 360 shouldn't add any noticible lag to the games. It's quite responsive when hooked up to a 24" CRT. :goat:
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i8...1/Image001.jpg
It's just my keyboard.
but god it's fucking awesome. 3 colours as well.
AND A DIMMER!
:awesome:

Here is a little pano I did of my desktop.

I realize there are errors in the wood.
you people and your prebuilt boxes :saddowns:
It's not what is the box, it's, what is inside the box.
Hmm... I should make a pano of my new setup. And by new I mean lots of stuff has been switched out and I finally have the machine I built at work out of spare parts a year ago.
I'll edit one in in a bit.
e Working on it!
Exactly, I couldn't care less about what my box looks like, as long as what's inside it works well. Would you rather have a very performant computer, and a crappy case, or a beautiful case with a crappy performance?
Well, I guess it's really different with everyone, and you do get to show off when you have a nice case.
http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/175/img3357kl6.jpg
update: macbook, toys, second xbox 360, second headset.
http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/1509/img3359ul0.jpg
What kind of headphones are those, and how much did they cost?
Why do you have 5 Xbox controllers u hore D:<
What brand monitors are those? Would you recommend them?
He probably has 6.
There are two xbox 360's there, and only 7 controllers.
The headphones are Astro Gaming A40 MLG edition headsets, retail for 250 with amp but were made in a limited edition of 500. I think they sell a normal a40 headset though which is still 250. They have excellent customer service as well :P
Monitors are hanns-g HG216D, I got them super cheap (180) and they have HDMI so it was all gravy for me. I don't actually recommend them, if you are going to buy a monitor don't cheap out like I did, it'll be worth it in the end to buy something a lot better. Dell makes the best monitors IMO, and they look damn good too.
If you're getting a monitor, I highly recommend this one. I did my research on it before I bought it, it uses the panel type with the lowest input lag, not to mention it has awesome contrast and brightness, especially if you tune it precisely with the nVidia control panel or another utility.
Yeah that's a nice cheap panel, well worth the price for it's size. Out of the box it's way too bright and you'll think it's broken ;)
That is the same panel as my monitor and will basically be the exact same, the panel piece is why I don't like the monitor, viewing angle is HORRIBLE
Were you the one who was going to get the 24" Westy?
:downs:
Ha, thanks guys. Yeah my 17in LCD monitor died the other day, thought I would look in to another one. Currently running on an old CRT monitor that hardly fits on my desk...
I'm still using my dead 17". It usually stops working after a few seconds of running, but when it doesn't, it stays on quite nicely. Usually forcing it through a few display changes fixes it (like, say, restarting a computer).
Speaking of monitors...
I learned something after doing some research on my current monitor-
Find out what type of panel it is. Specifically, make sure it isn't Twisted Nematic (TN)- based.
They have crappy viewing angles, and if you view it at any angle but the front the color is off. The only selling point is a 5ms-7ms response time, and the price.
Unfortunately, they are also the most common type. Basically, if all they advertise is the response time, and it's cheap, it's a TN panel.
If you were to buy my monitor (Q241wb) now, it would be a TN panel. Luckily, I got one of the last VA panel ones they made, and it works amazingly nicely.
Actually, TN panels are best for gaming, as they have the lowest input latency. I don't mind the viewing angle, I don't even notice any color difference at all when gaming with my TN panel. I think it's awesome :/
Here's a review of my monitor that explains.
.
The vertical viewing angles are crappy, horizontal is fairly good. Also, just because it is cheap doesn't mean it has to be TN.
Those 24" Soyo Office Max was selling for $299 were *VA panels for a long time until some TNs appeared. Westinghouse has a 24" MVA with the extra video ports for under 400 as well.
I'm telling you guys, if you're gaming, TN all the way :/
Just get a good TN
There are a few 26" IPS panels out there that are great for gaming as well.
Clean dat up man D:
did you see my setup wind? His is neat compared to mine.
