    Re: Battlefield 3

I didnt see them as a huge pain in the ass, they served their purpose in the beta. If someone was foolish enough to leave theirs switched on in the wide open spaces (which most of bf3 maps are) then they stuck like a sore thumb, but when it came to close quarter they could either be a life saver or a death trap. They did an excellent job of blinding enemies but they also could light up walls letting them know you where coming, and they would also blind your teammates so you had to get very good with the on/off button.

I really like my N7 dogtags, but I grabbed one of the Alienware tags for the hell of it. They must've pushed the number available up to 10000 I think.

Just finished single player. Took about 6-7 hours? It could have been refined more, but it was still awesome!

The last hand-to-hand scripted combat scene in the SP, yeah.... My game glitched out and didn't display the guy I was fighting at all, so I was just observing my character air-fight.

I was rather disappointed at the ending of the campaign. The game was gradually picking up speed and by the beginning of the last level it was hurtling at a million miles a second. I felt so awesome at that point. Then it suffered the most horrific devastating crash of a story plot. It had so much potential at the end, and it blew it. Hell, even the final battle sequence sucked ass.

yes flashlights are present, and are just as annoying as in the beta.

Here's hoping that we'll see server admins take action and just ban the damned thing, similar to how many COD4 servers ban the grenade launcher. It's essentially the same as lobbing a flashbang in front of you, but with the flashbang affecting only the enemy and potentially teammates, rather than yourself.

The one good thing about the flashlights is that if you're sniping at long range, those asshats are the most obvious targets I racked up five kills in a row on Tehran Highway with the SVD, and all five were flashlight abusers.

Anyways, Battlelog is an improvement over the beta, and I've had pretty good stability so far. I'm hoping that they'll integrate it into the Origin in-game Steam-like internet browser eventually, as that is the only reasonable substitute for a traditional server browser.

For an EA first release, I was pretty impressed at how stable it was compared to initial releases. Running on an Athlon II X3 435 and a Radeon 6870 at 1920x1080 ultra with no problems. Laptop has a gen 1 core i5 and a Mobility Radeon 5850, and it's pushing 1680x1050 on high with no problems either.

For those with lower end parts, I've benchmarked the game on my mate's laptop ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650, and it ran quite smoothly at 1366x768 on the lowest settings, with the frames never going below the mid-30s. Toning the resolution down to 1024x600 shot the frames above 60 most of the time. The game doesn't look too ugly on low either - certainly better than a lot of other games on high. So yeah, if you can run BC2 decently, then you should be able to have a playable experience with BF3, but it's still recommended to upgrade for the "full" experience.

Also, the jets are awesome, nuff said.

I haven't started the campaign yet, I've heard it's basically another COD so I'll save that for the time my internet decides to die.

    e: oops, I meant a radeon 6870. But I don't think the 6850 should be any "worse" for BF3.

    Re: Battlefield 3

    Iv got:
AMD Turion II P520 Dual 2.3 Ghz
    500 Gb Internal
    4 GB DDR3
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

and in the beta I could run on all low on Metro and it definitely ran smoother than BC2 (Which ran at 60-30). I could even chuck it on High with out to much of a FPS drop. So from what I can gather BF3 really doesn't use much CPU at all. It did seem to have a lil FPS drop on Caspian but it was still definitely playable.
