Resolution Crash?!?!

Hi everyone,
I just bought Halo 2 today for my new Vaio laptop, played it on xbox and wanted to play when i go back to school, but i get back, install the game, start playing and realize i need to tweak the resolution. I have a nice screen on this laptop, and ive been playing CS:S and Dawn of War at 1440x900 so i went to the options, clicked the screen resolution tab and the game just crashes! No messages or anything! The game plays now, but the gun takes up about half my screen, anyone knoiw what the problem is?!!?

yes set to a lower resolution cause h2 just hogs unessary power and h2 requires a CRAPLOAD more than CSS and DoW

He just said he can't change the res, because it crashes when he tries to.

I had this problem, Goto your shortcut and then properitys, then set Window Mode to Minimised, wait till you hear h2 start up and goto the menu music then open it up and that should get you in.

He can't change resolution, he can play, he just can't get the res to change.

thanks guys, ill give it a go with the minimizing thing and hunt for a .cfg file, any other ideas and ill give them a go...

that was the first thing i did, instaed of the 'play the game while installing' option, i did hte full install and it didnt help at all. it is a legit copy of the game to

H2V doesn't support 1440x900. You have to run at a different res.
