The ten pits in the heatshield (immediately beneath the rail). The bottoms have to be darkened quite a bit. Also, don't neglect the magazine release.
@ Ross: You'd see it every time you melee, though. If it has as simple a design as you described (which it sure looks like based on H2 screenies), all it would be is an imprinted low-detail tube with minor embellishment at the opening; it should be affordable.
