Its Hammer Time!
Can't touch this!
Someone else will be skinning it, or UVW-ing for me to skin, but it will be skinned. I need to learn how to UVW...
good time to learn then. don't have someone else do it.
the only time i let someone else UV my shit is when i simple cba.
if something is really complex, i love to do it myself, makes you get better at it.
I've tried out Wings's unwrapping tool before, but it was so damn confusing and the tutorials I found weren't any help. No one else I know knows how to use Wings, let alone the unwrapper. I might get around to trying it out again when I get some more information on how it's supposed to work and how I'm supposed to know where to texture what. For now, I cba.
*blows up a reference and makes a silhouette* Click for scaled image, mind you.
Note the blade is longer, more accute at the tip, and the bottom lip of the front edge is not round, bulbous, or malformed.
Also, the handle grip balloons subtlely around the top and the handguard seems to taper inward a bit.

Yeah, I noticed some of that about half way through colouring the referance. I never even looked at a perspective shot like you have, just some 90X90 third or fourth picture I saw on google. Best thing about it not being for someone else is artistic liscence. Which is why I chose a differant texture/colour scheme too.
something to maybe make the brutes better, the brutes have hair "sprites" on places like their elbows, cheeks, chins, forearms, pecs... mostly places that have a big contour or an angle where the hair doesnt lie flat against their body.
