That is a wire frame yes, but it is usually better to do this technique:

1. Click all parts of your model.
2. Press Ctrl + V, and "Copy" the model (Do not un-select copies.)
3. Go to the modifier drop down box and look for "Push"
4. Put the settings to about 0.1 - 0.3
5. Open material editor, then go to an empty material slot and make it black, and check the "Wireframe" check box. (Not wireframe in the rendering details)
6. Then drag the wireframe material onto the selected objects, and select "apply to selection"

And then you have a good and easy to see wireframe.
