Cause bungie could get away with using normal maps instead of geometry for alot of things, because of the engine. It's not that they're better, just a design choice. I've got no doubt in my mind bungies artists could model the pants off everyone with some nice looking hi res gun meshes :P

I guess you're right, but I still find that your guns looks so much nicer. The Carbine has the extruding parts at the back, which really adds to the gun, and the SMG has all those details that the Halo 3 ones don't. I'm not saying that Bungie couldn't make guns this nice, because they obviously could, and easily at that.

I really like the look of this SMG, in this image.
The little metal piece up front, on the grip, looks untextured, but it is. Maybe it's just the lighting though.

That's the only thing that looks even slightly weird, to be honest, that doesn't even hurt it. Keep up the awesome textures. Love ya Dano.

I personally hate the gun as well, but hopefully the team will make it not suck this time around.

me and DAno can debate the SMG for hours, but it's definatly one of my most favorite weapons to use.

In halo 3 the smg is definitely a great weapon, in h2 however I can't say the same.

Although, I still prefer the Carbine over any weapon.
