    Modifying the difficulty settings

Is it possible to tweak the difficulty settings in the singleplayer campaign? Stuff like modifying the player's shield strength, or changing the damage/accuracy of jackal snipers. If it's possible, I'd very much appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

It's very obvious that Bungie spent a lot more time balancing the easy and normal settings than they did heroic and legendary. The result was that the latter two settings ended up being extremely frustrating, uneven, and generally unenjoyable experiences. If I could just tweak a few settings, though, I think I could change the gameplay in the higher difficulties into something better than the unplayable mess that it is now. You might disagree (in which case I'm in awe of your tolerance for frustration and tedium), but hopefully you can understand why I might want to do this.

    Welcome to the forums.

Assuming you have an app that can read Halo 2 Vista map cache files, and edit the data tags within them, you'd have to poke around many, many different tags to change what you want.

However, I haven't gotten anywhere near Halo 2 Vista, and anything I know is based on how Halo CE works.

In the globals tag, there's a variety of difficulty parameters under the "Difficulty" block. I'd play around with those.

And what program should I use to modify that tag?

Open the program and browse for the tags/globals/globals.globals tag.

You can probably edit it using that "Gravemind" app, if he has the plugins mapped out correctly that is.

Are people supposed to have that? I wasn't aware anyone publicly unlocked it. Who uploaded this?
