It's like people who are bashing FMA: Brotherhood, saying it's nothing like the old show. Of course it's not, it's not supposed to be, that's just dumb. I looked at 1.0 as a re imagining of Evangelion, not a full on remake of the old show. Don't get me wrong, I love (as in I still watch it some days) the TV show and always will, after all it was the second Anime I ever watched, and has since been my favorite.
