    no, nothing moves

edit: reason being, if I try and make it realistic so that one thing moves, then I have to make everything move realistically. That's just not possible. I think it's best that a sky remains at a frozen time. For example, if I animate the dust clouds, it would only make sense to simulate the spinning of the halo, which isn't possible.

Fuck that. Make High Charity purple. Take out the Sentinels for now - they'll probably go back in later, but finish one step at a time. Make the sky your own - keep the milky way in, but don't go by the colors that you are given from any levels in H3 - none of them are from the same vantage or during the Installation's construction sequence, hence, having different atmospheric conditions. Note, however, that if you include the galaxy, you must also include more stars elsewhere in the sky.

I don't honestly think anyone's going to be playing the one game on the one map for more than a few hours, Con.

You may as well make the more important stuff move.

Tis defiantly shaping up to be one of the cooler skies I've seen for a CE map.

Milky way looks a little weird right in the middle of the cloud below it.

    Otherwise

Looks great! You should put the clouds on planes/triangles, give them alpha channels and have them slowly move across the sky.

The area outside of galaxies is virtually devoid of stars.

People assume things have to be totally different in order to make it their own. I disagree, since the whole point of the saying is justify their intentions of being original. I'm not going to make it different for the sake of being different; my intentions are to keep things close to their Halo 3 counterparts. In that, I'm doing what I want, which is the point behind "make it your own". In saying that, it's more of a request than anything else. So, if you guys all want me to change it to purple then I will, but I won't be "making it my own". I respect canon and value realism, so my work has always been following these lines. Atmospheric conditions, on the other hand, I've already somewhat covered in my post about colouring.

What things are any more important than the others?

I can guarantee it'll look cheesy for the lower clouds. Aside from being simple, static clouds can match light direction whereas moving ones would be constricted to a certain path to look right. However, I do plan on adding a scrolling cloud layer similar to Bungie maps.

Ok, the galaxy is just in that general area. I can move it around a little and see how it looks.

While it's true that stars can only form in galaxies or clusters, I'd say the light from other stars or galaxies is still seen. Maybe the ark is in a small cluster, since there's a nebula there, but I won't be putting many stars in the sky.

How do the stars work anyway? Is it part of the shader? I don't think my sky model includes everything; it's based off a ripped timberland sky.
