True, but if he had, he would have turned in that direction. Instead, he's sliding at an incredibly odd angle. As if the bus were pushing him with a forcefield or something. I love the .gif- looks epic as hell, but I do think it was faked. They probably recorded the accident, then some wise guy decided to film himself running across the intersection from the same angle. When he realized he would get "run over", he made himself slide to get out of the way.
