Actually if you go back and watch the series unedited and subbed and what not, you'll find the series is pretty intelligent when compared to the typical shounen-esque action romp. (ie: Naruto, Bleach, DBZ, all that jazz)

Oh but yeah, the dubbed and edited version Inferno is watching is more like a saturday morning cartoon.

There's plenty of cursing and dialogue. The action is broken up by plenty of mid-fight-monologue'n as well. So I doubt it's been edited down to much. I think I'm watching the adult swim version.

Yeah, they made two versions. One, generally unedited, for Adult Swim, and the other, very much edited, to be aired on Toonami.

Yu Yu played on toonami? I must have missed this. I always watched it on adult swim when I was like 7 or 8 (when my parents weren't looking of course).

If you want kiddie anime, try a show based around a childrens card game.

The English dubbed episodes aired from February 23, 2002 to April 1, 2006 on Cartoon Network. Initially, the episodes were shown on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block from February 2002 to April 2003, and switched to Cartoon Network's Toonami programming block. Some of the show's original depictions of violence, sexual humor, and coarse language were edited out for broadcast.

Yeah, Inferno's watching that version. But you don't want it.

Even though it still has the cursing and whatever else, the dialogue was poorly rewritten for the English language. On top of that, you have typical 90s dubbing quality. You're really just better watching the original Japanese version subbed. And for that just message me on Steam.

There are some shows I can watch subbed, but I mostly miss the awful voices of the characters.

The girly guy, the Vegeta guy, The guy with downs, and the main guy that sounds like every other main character.

I know all their names, but cant be arsed to google how to spell them.

The English dub isn't that bad IMO. The only terrible voice is Kewabara. God I wish he would get his mouth ripped off already.

Additionally. The last episode I watched had a shit ton of blood in it. There's no way this is edited.

Kewabara sounds like a dog with downs.
