Watched my friend play today... bots built a barrier and trapped themselves inside of it. Game was lagging like hell and didn't look fun at ALL.

From what I've seen, it looks like they spent too much time creating lots of character variations, and not enough time play-testing for bugs and other sorts of errors.

Movement is great. Looks great. Heavily relies in team play, which means you don't have people to play with, you're not going to have fun. This thread proves the amount of bugs and lag bs going. Guess they released the game unfinished.

Funny thing is that it was originally supposed to be released tomorrow. They bumped up the release date.

I remember seeing live game play of this! But that was two years ago at PAX. How can there still be bugs in it...

Probably because they didn't stop making the game two years ago. Pretty easy to bring a build of a game to a convention which is locked down enough to not include any major bugs.

I and TeeKup play with each other as Engineers almost every other night. We have been since release. It's a lot of fun but it's one
of those games that needs to be played with a bunch of friends; whether online or system link. It does indeed need patches and it tends to lag heavily in multiplayer. But I'm still hooked. Finding a good game doesn't take *too* long but once you do, it's enjoyable.
On an unrelated note: I'm getting a little stoked about L.A. Noire :P

For fellow AMD peeps. They released a hotfix that's supposed to fix the loss of framerate. with my 5870, I jumped to about 90 FPS, with a consistent 60 FPS in intense times.
