Well... all hopes dashed. Guess Halo's down the shitter for good.

Just judging from the fact that the guy getting knifed looks like he's wearing Mark IV, and that the guy shown in the Damny comparison is sprinting, I think the multiplayer version of the game is still Reach. I can't catch anything that suggests otherwise (e.g. weapons, the only ones seen in multiplayer footage are a rocket launcher, assault rifle, and pistol/magnum, all of which are in both games), so I get a feeling that HA10 is going to be given to us the same way ODST was. Campaign + Net Co-Op CE on one disc, map pack/multiplayer-only Reach with all maps on the other.

If this is the case, 343i missed the point of the game remake entirely. A reimagined Campaign is cool, don't get me wrong, but I think we were all hoping to play a prettier Halo 1 on LIVE.

Honestly, there are so many complaints about other franchises not doing enough to further the experience and then we get people like yourself who water at the eyes at the slightest possibility of changing a single detail.

See, a good remake is one which stays in the spirit of the original and only adds good features, not stupid ones which broke the gameplay of other titles in the series. In other words, don't fix what ain't broke. Pretty sure I've already stated this many, many times in regards to the Halo 1 remake, so try actually reading before you post.

I bet you get all butt hurt over the fact that the remake doesn't use the original engine as well.

Deleted it because of positioning, but I'll repost what I had to say. In response to warlord, I am butthurt that it's not on the original engine. All I ever wanted, nay, expected, not from a sense of entitlement, but from the fact that they're calling it a remake, was new graphics. Add to that the whole Halo: CE map library with online support and 4-player co-op. That's all it needed. This isn't a remake, it's a re-imagining. If they think that people spent "billions of hours" in the single-player, and not the multi-player component of Halo: CE, they're off their rockers.

Even if the single-player portion is completely true to the original, it's appearing more and more likely that the online multi-player aspect is just like the way we received ODST. That is, in this case, it will follow strictly Reach gameplay. I bought the Halo:CE Original port for the 360, so I don't need an updated single-player experience. What I want, and what everyone who enjoyed the first game will find they want, is the classic Halo multi-player experience, modernized through online support. But it appears we won't be getting that. Will still purchase, however.

Also Halo 4? Wow, and to think the Halo saga was finally going to end after it looped again through Reach. I'm honestly having a Halo overload right now and I think a lot of people will too. This is just ridiculous.
