I think it's just that they don't have a critical heal animation for drowning, and that this is an overlooked exploit. These all look like environmental hazards, like falling and breaking something, impaling yourself on a crowbar, twisting your ankle uh... 90 degrees.

My first computer was an original hand-me-down Commodore 64. Of course, I was way behind while everyone else was using their newer IBM Windows 98 computers.

Our first PC was something running DOS, that's all I really remember about it. That and installing Star Wars Dark Forces and TIE Fighter.
Also, this is just another OS running on new hardware. Maybe it's just me but that sounds really unappealing, it's not retro at all, it will have none of the old things that they're trying to suck you in with.
