It's MS fault for the way H2V turned out. So without MS, we'd probably have a better Halo (2, sans "Vista").

Also, it would probably be easier for them to engineer the Halo 4 codebase for PC titles than to port Halo 3.
You're forgetting that Halo wouldn't have been what it was if MS hadn't bought Bungie from Mac. I don't even want to think about what would have happened if Mac still had control of Bungie....
