I honestly didnt think Starcraft II required much of a computer to run.

If you know what you're doing, you can run it in low with no gameplay problems. However, like the video said you'll need a lot of power to run replays and play games on the best settings.

Also, you know the rule with Halo where the more AI that fill the screen the more laggy it gets? Well imagine that with Starcraft after two armies are maxed out on the same screen. That's not even ruling in how the Protoss Mothership rapes performance.

Is the mothership not being removed from multiplayer in HotS?

Not at all. In fact, the Mothership Core is now an early game unit that eventually evolves into a Mothership. Vortex is being phased out though, which many are glad about because it was such a coin-flip of a move and made Protoss versus Zerg matches a coin flip as well since it was basically a requirement in the lategame. HotS is turning into a much better expansion as a result IMO.
