Practice is about working on elements of the game.

i actually learn more making a custom game by myself and just creating build orders using loading and saving to get it perfect then i do trying something with him cause he just meta games. For instance he knows i CC first everygame with varying degrees of greediness, and to punish that he does things like a warpgate rush and just hopes i dont build a bunker, or things like proxy zealots or 2 gate openings, which mean nothing to me in practice because i want to practice the mid game and late game and strategy, not my micro skills against an early meta-game rush.
On the other hand if i wanted him to 4 gate me i'd ask and practice against that, but seeing as thats not what i'm trying to learn it's wasted time.
