i dont agree with the people saying not to use the original textures, use them!
I'll probably get -rep for this, so it's a good thing I don't care.
All of this Halo 1 direct ports blow. Take some time and re-imagine the map or, at the very least, update the level mesh to feel a more like Halo 2 and redo the textures or reuse Halo 2 ones. If I wanted to play Halo 1 levels that look and feel like their Halo 1 counterparts, I would load up Halo 1. People really could be much more creative with these map ports.

Well, you can change a lot visually that will not change the gameplay at all. The cliffs, the tunnel walls, making ladders into lifts, switching out the teleporters, modifying the ground textures and shaders, replacing the trees, replacing the rocks, re-imagining the icy "stairs" that lead to the center connecting mass, accents on the outer face of each base, the turret snow mound, etc.
I'm just saying, show the map some love, not a direct porting. Even Beaver Creek had some good changes applied to it when it made the move to Halo 2.
