Polar pretty much explained what I had in mind for the Sparrows on library. They are the most powerfull unit in the game, but I have a few idea's to make them fun for the player to fight against. They can fire 12 missles without reloading and their primary weapon in gauss cannons. These things are designed to pulverise any ground force.

As far as I can see it doesn't go through players and vehicles.
if theres lots of cover (and its the library, so there isn't) and enoughhammer of dawnsspartan lasers then i see no reason why the sparrows would be unbeatable as long as the AI are well controlled.

I tested it on my rig, and got about 3-5 fps on average...but then again it is a beta, and probally isn't fully optimized..

I have 2.16 ghz, ATI Radeon Xpress 200, and 1 gig memory...how does that compare to the specs above me? ^^

also, I remember from SP v1 you gave some covie crates vehicle like aspects so they could be moved around, will that be put in for SP v2?
another thing, I recently saw my friends Xfire screenshots and saw he managed to obtain WITHOUT ANY HAX a transport hog on the PoA level, is that a left over or something that is there but should really spawn?
last thing, will that tank that was hidden in a30 in SP v1 still be there, I liekd it because it was out of the way and when you DID find it, it made the level abit easier (especially on legendary >.<)
We fixed that problem a long time ago, but then when we enlarged the hunters it happened again. It's no biggie.
Covie crate vehicles are only on b30 and a50 in some places, we just don't have the vehicle slots for them on the other ones.
The transport hog in POA was in SPV1 only, we cut out the entire hanger bay cutscene so we could ge tthe map and scripts to compile. In A10 we hit the limit to how many lines of script you can have in a map, as well as how many BSPs.
A30 is super tight on tagslots, but there are wraith tanks you can use instead. And TBH, mortar tanks are the best.
Masterz, I really think you should cut out some of those "extra hallway" BSPs in A10. There's already too much generic repetitive hallway combat in that level without you adding more. Being a huge fan of story, I really think the space would be much better spent on the intro cinematic. I just think you're shooting yourself in the foot.

Is it literally "lines", or is it number of parenthetical statements, or parenthetical expressions, or what?
It may just be a limit on the amount of scripts and globals allowed, and not the lines.

Well it's been cut, and it's not going back in. It's a pointless cutscene. Firs tof all, there are no warthogs, pelicans or tanks in it, we had to clear those out for the addition of even the most basic of new weapons and content. Then we have the new BSPs, which was orignally 12, but then we wre barely able to merge them into 8. The original map has 9 bsps, giving us a total of 17 bsps total in the map. By removing the hanger, we were able to fit them all in. Now ever if we were to revamp ALL the bsps and try to merge 2 more of them, so we could include the hanger, we still have the issue of scriptspace, which our new bsps toally maxed out. By removing the hanger cutscene, we have enough scriptspace to do whatever we want. It also allows us to have acess to more tagspace, as we can go in and delete alot of custom animations required for that cutscene.
So even if we found a work around for all that, take a look at the cutscene. You have no vehicles in it, the hwole thing is marines wa ving and signaling vehicles that don't exist. Then you have the Johnson speach. In Halo 1, Johnson isn't even a real character. He has 0 role in the story, his character is just a marine. You have this 3-4 minute long cutscene, which has nothing to do with the foward ation of the plot or the universe. What we have isntead now, is Keyes saying "Let's give our visitors a warm welcome.." To which Cortana says "I've already begun." It then cuts directly to the crewmen opening the cryotube, and you jump right into the Chief's story. When the game it was an important cutscene to show you what the game had in store for you, and to give you an idea of just what the univrse was about. Flash foward 7 years into the future. It's no longer important.
If someone can find a work around, that would fix all our roblems other than cutting the bsp and the cutscene, I will be glad to hear it. But as far as I can see, there is no realistic way for it to be included.

Some of the stuff going into SPV2 has me blown away, but then again, it's a modification the object of my devotion and as such, when I disagree with it, I really disagree. I hate to see my favorite parts of the game dropped because they were "unimportant" or changed to something less amazing because "we want to be different." :(

I have an idea, instead of making it a cutscene, why not make it like a room where he's briefing soldiers, that you can walk by right after the cryo bay?
We can't go in and modify original BSPs. Not to mention it makes no sense if you're giving a pep rally while aliens are shooting up your crew.

um...whats the big deal..the cutscene is one of the most unimportant ones in the game, wasn't that great to begin with, and was novelty from the start...
remember it IS a MODIFIED campaign...why keep EVERYTHING the same?

It's not even badass, it's just stupid. It was like KiLLa said, a fun novelty at first. It's been 7 years, if it means that much to you, youtube it. I could really care less about "atmosphere" in a mod that's mostly about kicking ass in as many ways and places as possible. That's not to say I don't care about it at all, but to even put in one hour of work for a lame speach is not worth my time.
So play Halo PC if it's THAT DAMN important...

Lets say your walking along the street to your destination, someone is singing on the sidewalk, who is singing terribly. Would you rather keep that person there for atmosphere or get rid of them.
No point in having it in if it's been stripped of all it's oomph.
Actually, it will take far more than 8 hours to beat. my best guess is 12 or 13. We've put alot of work into it, and with all the weapons and vehicles, you can easily get a new expiernce even on you 4th or 5th time playing a level. We've also done things with the encounters so they will behave differently each time you play. Sometimes carbine elites will replace PR ones, othertimes brutes will spawn in a different location when the last time you played it was a pair of elites in a other location. It's really dynamic, and even though I was responsible for this it took me the longest time to get use to have a new expierence each time, and sometimes my own encounters still do take me by surprise.
To be honest I never even saw that cutscene until my 3rd playthrough of the campaign. It's not as vital as you think.

I'm not sure how halo 1 works, but make a separate map for the cutscene? Im just throwing ideas out there, I know for a fact this in Halo 2 would work

xD impressive, the larger encounters look like a very promising new aspect of the game, seeing that the marines actually know how to fight. Great work, also the rockethog with supressing fire. I think the game play is shaping out to be amazing, gameplay should always be the most important part when making a mod, it gives it replay value, and controls how fun it'll ultimately be, visual effects are nice sure but the gameplay is where its at. Also lol at flying bodies from being run over.
E: I jus hope I can actually run the game.

I believe you said you did the AR's bolt movement in the overlay because you couldn't get it to look right in the fire animation. I thought you should know, I found a pretty consistently successful way of timing the frames so it works nicely ingame. Because using the overlay for it just looks sloppy IMO.
