I say the magazine is a bit large. True, the one on the actual spiker isn't that convincing, capacity-wise, but it looks better when it's flush with the rest of the weapon. Besides, since when has bungie realistically loaded their magazines? Think H1 AR. That magazine is in no way large enough to hold 60 7.62 caliber rounds. I dunno, maybe there's a white hole in the bottom of it?
It could also be that the spiker's magazine is a tank of molten metal, which is drawn up into the gun and fired as a solid projectile. Science behind the Needler, anyone?
