I was visiting SCAD.
This woman was wearing a garishly colored headdress as part of what she told me was an Easter tradition in New York city, where people would make and wear strange hats. I asked her if I could take her photo, and she agreed. I took several, but they were posed shots of her smiling, then she was distracted by something and completely changed her composure to this strange look, which I captured.
What is she thinking? Why is she making that face? Is it disdain? Smugness or simply boredom due to me taking several photos of her?
Maybe she's just Mech![]()

While wandering the streets at night in New York, I came across this junk drummer, I had to grab a shot, too bad it was real dark, so I had to really bump up the ISO. Ah well, in attempting to correct the color cast of the streetlights, I ended up with these nice muted colors.
I regret not shooting this in RAW, would've had better detail/resolution to counteract the graininess.
I love it when I come across strange moments like this. A guy with a massive beard, baby stroller full of toys, a balloon, and other strange junk, just lying on a rock in the sun in Central Park, New York. It was such a cold, windy day, yet he seemed to be enjoying himself.
Yet another Savannah Saxophonist, this time a tenor sax player.
