its not as fun because people are more wary and will avoid places that appear altered or rigged, if you've ever been on a server where PvP and griefing are allowed nothing really gets done and alot of people end up hiding underground only to be rooted out by people with the Xray mod

besides the pressure plate hooked up to the TNT was something you would haven't expected if there was no addon for the server that told you where TNT was, i had actually planned to rig several blocks in my rail station to the redstone circuit that made up the switch circuits

For future reference, we're running a creative no-pvp server that's all about the building. If you want to fuck around with destructive shit, you have to go do it with like-minded people and deal with the x-ray faggots and stuff.

why'd you buy minecraft beta then if you want creative mode?

What difference does it make?

Creative mode is where there are no mobs, no inventory, and eternal day. You have infinite blocks of every type and you can do whatever you want with them. It's free and you can play it on the website. The beta is almost an entirely different game, where you start with nothing and have to mine/chop/farm everything to get what you want. Most of the point of playing 'SMP' is doing the work to make your buildings. Not just building them. Which is why sevlag is right in this case and freelancer is wrong.

So what the hell is the point of buying the game then if it's saved in the Classic version? <-- I'm assuming most people in this thread only play on the modacity server.
