    Origin, who's on it?

I just preorded BF3 on it, let's make an Origin ID thread.

The service seems pretty basic right now. I don't see it being a problem when BF3 rolls around.

Feel free to post your Origin IDs in this thread. This post will be updated with them.

You can add some more recent EA games to Origin if you bought them on Steam or bought physical copies. I added BC2 using the key I got from Steam, and they'll ask you which version you bought - the regular or the digital deluxe. I wish I wasn't so damned honest, but it's not like I'll ever play that game again or know what the difference was.

I'm on it by default. Anyone who has an EA account is automatically an Origin member. I just installed Origin and paired my Steam BC2 to Origin. I really like the interface of Origin.

Btw, you shouldn't pre-order BF3 until the Physical Warfare pack comes to North America.

    fuck that shit.

all this means is i'll never play an EA game again. simple as that.
just like games using that GFWL service is a deal-breaker for me as well.

i can't be bothered to have all that crap shoved in my face.
obviously, the only reason they come up with this shit, is because steam charges for their distribution service. (AND ITS PRETTY DAMN CHEAP TBH)
it's just another 'i want more money' shitprogram, which will most likely, fail.

Don't be a fool. You don't have to use Origin to play EA games except for Origin exclusive titles.

    Disc version.

And GFWL is even worse, at first it didn't even have a digital download centre and it loves to fuck up your single player game saves without any cloud backup.

as long as Origin doesn't end up being a game-crashing data-corrupting system-crippling mess (like GFWL and previous EA DRM), then there's no issue with using it.

add machoman btw (lame username I know)

Digital Deluxe just gives early unlocks like the M1911 and M1A1 and some vehicle perks. If you've played for long enough, there's no more difference.

plague: whoops, add machoTS, that was my clan tag

e: my key for BC2 was standard edition and I redeemed as Deluxe so that might be a plus for new buyers.

lol you wish. Just early vanilla BC2 unlocks, which don't really make that much difference (except maybe the M1911 which pwns the M9 newbs)

anyway confirmed this "reuse Steam key" works for MoH as well, but not Crysis 1 or Warhead.

seems like I have to re-download, so probably not gonna bother with Origin for now until BF3 comes out.

So what big EA games are coming out without requiring origin? BF3? ME3? um...

(fuck EA, not buying their games until this dies)
