Shields are relevant because Halo started the regenerative health in a successful FPS. Shields also determine the effectiveness of commonplace weapons. Basically, you're arguing how CoD is similar to Halo because CoD (and most modern shooters) took a LOT of elements off of the original Halo for Xbox.

Halo 4 has to appeal to the large consensus of fans to be successful this go around. It was lucky with Reach to not slump too far down the shitter, but now it really has to do well (which I think it will).

I also feel a really epic vibe coming from a DMR vs. BR dual. Which super-powered commonplace ranged weapon will win out?

And I absolutely love the art style they took with this. Everything just looks so fresh and new. Still thinking the current MP maps lack aesthetic creativity in comparison to the maps found in Halo 3 and Halo Reach, though the mech in the middle of that one map adds a nice bit to it and the layout of the Forerunner map looks pretty well done. Either way, I am definitely looking for to this installment in the series.
