alot of books are like that, because the author spends most of hist time building and creating the world, and characters.
it takes them years before they get the first book out the door, but the others follow afterwards with far less polish.

Just started the fifth book yesterday, have been a fan of them so far. Not even close to as good as the Wheel of Time series, but still worth a read in my opinion.

Well, I more mean that I have read 5 books, with no conclusive ending in sight. I'm not a big fan of that style of writing.

Isn't that what makes this so awesome? You can't predict the ending because the plot is so dynamic. I don't think I've read anything like that other than The Walking Dead.
