You mean the look down your sights camera hack?
Yes. AFAIK, he hasn't released it yet, but I know there's got to be a video of it floating around somewhere, although I haven't looked. Might have to search GBX forums.
It would work great with the MA5K...
that would be cool, but Master Chief wears super advanced armor and the visor/computer/whatever links directly to his weapon (In the books, targeting reticules appear just like they do in-game), so he should be able to fire accurately from the hip since his targeting system can accurately determine where he needs to shoot.
I believe the regular Marines can do this too...those with the eyepieces on their helmets, that is.
Anyway it'd be a little hard to aim down the sight with the visor in the way (I think that was why the targeting system was implemented in the first place).
Or because it was a lot easier and more efficient. <_<
The eyepiece in the marines' helmets is an information display only. They don't have sensors integrated into their armor that tracks their weapon's ammunition and direction.
Wow Spades...weapons are basically your children from heaven.
Or Hell, depending on how you look at it.
It would be straight into the barrel in this case. D:
I keep on forgetting to ask this but:
Will any more weapons have a more realistic reload like the SMG in MP?
If you've noticed the SMG takes away 60 ammo everytime you reload stead of the usual how many bullets you need for a full clip.
Do you like the realistic reload?
I'm just asking thats all. I don't mind it either It's just that I think it would be inconsistent if some guns have it and some don't........
How can you not recover rounds from a caseless weapon? The bullets are still individual bullets, and can be loaded into another magazine if desired. The only difference is that the bullets don't have casings to be ejected. The only thing a caseless round can't do that a cased round can do is fire under water.
The clips are sealed.
Still haven't seen you online yet??
Did Bungie say that or are you just making that up? The G11 assault rifle fires 4.5mm caseless ammunition, and its magazines are not sealed.
If you are referring to the ammo packages on the ground being sealed, that doesn't really make much sense, because all of the human ammunition packages are sealed, regardless of whether or not they are cased.
take a look at the smg clip. It's all closed.
There is a port somewhere on the underside (the side that is closest to the receiver of the SMG) for the bullets to be fed trough. If it isn't present, then you may chalk that one up to laziness on Bungie's (or your team's) part. You can't have a completely closed magazine and expect the bullets to be loaded.
Unless you can justify your logic, I think the "realistic" reloading of the M7 needs to be fixed.
I would tend to agree with Warsaw about the closed magazine issue. There has to be a way for the rounds to be fed into the weapon, hence, impossible for the magazine to be completely closed. However, if you want to go realistic, you could (if the program will let you) make a delay on the rounds reappearing in the inventory.
Revord
Or have the Master Chief simply store the unfinished magazine(s) for later use, so that eventually he'll start pulling out magazines with, say, 21 rounds in them versus a full 60.
yea that's what they do on america's army special forces, the marines just store the clips that still have bullets in them and use it later, even if there's only one stinking bullet in it........
And the rocket launcher as well.....?
The rocket launchers a different story. That one ACTUALLY makes sense seeing as each "clip" is two pre-loaded rounds in a "drum" that you place on the rocket launcher to load it. Its not like you could really get a single rocket out of each drum (Or whatever its called)
yeah thats true. i think all the power-weapons and the sniper should have no round recovery
aw no, not the sniper, the sniper is a box mag, you could recover rounds from that, but the rocket launcher i understand, it shouldn't have round recovery
Unless of course you pull out the whole "Store used rounds" thing.
what do you mean by that?
Why get so technical??
Thats too complicated for you? Its pretty self explanatory ya know.
I like the "store used rounds" thing. I hate the SMG because it doesn't have the "store used rounds" thing.
It would be more useful if it was a tad stronger.
although SMG battles are kinda epic
The SMG is strong in close range. I would give sustained fire to the enemy that is about a few yards away and then a melee attack. The SMG was over-powered in SPv2...I used it to kill hunters. =|
You mean Spv1 and yes I did too.
Eh, I hate the "no recovered rounds" thing. In Battlefield 1942 I have my ass-blastin' BAR, fire one round by accident, reload because every round counts, and I lose an entire goddamned clip. What if you accidently hit "E" or "R" (or whatever your action/reload keys are) on a "no recovered rounds" weapon when you've fired one round. And if you're a somewhat clumsy player, or are tired, you could keep firing a few rounds for clip, instinctfully go for reload or accidently hit it, think how many rounds you can lose! And say you're on the Library and you've got a gun that's rare (I haven't played it yet, I have very limited Windows use), and you keep reloading after a battle, you could lose lots of ammo VERY quickly.
All in all, keep recovered rounds in. I'm all for realism, but this just gets anoying.
Don't ever use rare weapons in the Library unless you are just blowing up a group with a rocket launcher, and then swapping it out for your previous weapon.
awesome i looked at all pictures and watched both videos, pretty damn fun.
I cant wait to screw around with brutes to (cheat bump possession):D
Warsaw: That's what I mean. Say you have a rocket launcher and, say, a shotgun. A group of flood comes to you. You whip out the rocket launcher and blow them to oblivion. You reload so if the next time you need it, you can shoot off two shots if need be, but by now, you've just wasted a valuable rocket.
Or you won't be able to fire anymore rockets after that anyway since your first round would trigger the unevitable explosion of the flood carrier forms and that inturn will trigger the various grenades scattered around the floor, causing a massive orange cloud of death and shrapnel that not even a wary rocket launcher wielding spartan can escape.
My point is- rockets against flood= self destruction
But yeah, I do find this new reload system to suck, since I reload all the time to make sure I have a full mag/barrel.
I stay away from the grenades, and blow them up before any rocket wielding.
Ha your complaining about them wielding rockets. I hate it when the flood have the chain gun. They seem to NEVER miss!!!
If they have the chaingun, I would give them the MA5C, grenade, and Spartan laser combo.
Wow I completely forgot to add the Spartan Laser into the flood combat picture. Thats goin to own.... and we won't have to worry about misdetonating anything.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if the spartan laser isn't even goin to be in the H3 campaign, much like how the fuel rod cannon was only available in multiplayer for Halo Combat Evolved...
These fourms have gotten boring lately bec nothing is happening *nudges masterz for some news or pics* but yeah w/e on the ammo thing leave it as is
The idea of losing all of the rounds in the clip whenever you reload is fucking retarded. That shouldn't be a part of ANY weapon.
We have enough shitty "realistic" games as it is.
^ That was settled a WHILE ago.
Halo pushes enough to the edge of believability as it is, so I think it would make sense to lose the remaining rocket in a sealed canister when reloading the rocket launcher, tbqh.
Besides, I'd love to see some mods like this more often, but the tenacity of our dear friend Warsaw (=EP_Ace of Spades) is probably the only reason that even that mod ever came to be.
We could use the whole chief stores the rounds things though ounce we get to 6 rockets it doesn't make sense if you reload after each time you fire. Cause eventually you should hit a used drum but reload two rockets anyway even though the drums are sealed.
The majority of the people here don't care about realism. They care about gameplay. Since when did someone pick up halo, with it's glowing blue blooded enemies, for its realism? If you want realism, go play Battlefield 2 or America's Army. As for me, keep the discard rounds in mag feature away from me.
That Q in tbqh better stand for "questionably".
This game is made to look real, but not like our actual reality. It's like 300, in a way. The creatures could have looked more real, but they weren't, because the creators wanted the creatures to look beyond real. Half-Life is actually the only big-name video game franchise going for pure realistic looks as far as I know.
Anyway, if it doesn't look like our reality, why should it function as our reality? If you look at the animations, MC doesn't actually exchange magazines in the gun. He just grabs the magazine, holds it away from the gun for awhile, then puts it back in. Personally, I think there is only one magazine, and MC holds all of the bullets in his cheeks like a squirrel holds food. When he pulls the magazine away from the gun, he is spitting bullets into the magazine faster than you can see. Understand?
My question is, how WOULD he lose rounds whenever he reloads? It would be a stupid waste of time to empty the magazine of all of its rounds before spitting more rounds into the gun. I really don't understand where anyone is coming up with this idea.
Because. Your forgetting a key word with the rocket launcher drums. They. Are. Sealed.
So what? Not even the original halo and halo 2 discarded the rockets. You know why? Because Bungie was focused on gameplay and balancing the scales for multiplayer.
That q stands for "quite."
Also, realism and believability ARE gameplay. That's why you play the game, to believe you're in the situation.
Warsaw, Ross, ExAM, someone get in here and back me up.
I'm fairly sure it depends on what's FUN.
And losing extra ammo because you reloaded, even though generally people reload on purpose so that they don't go into battle with one bullet in the cartridge, is not fun.
You guys can debate it all you want, it's not going to be changed. We have our reasons for it.
The flamethrower is a whole different story.... ammo for that weapon is liquid...
Just don't reload in the middle of the fight. Keep the trigger pressed or either stop and wait until another battle.
Then whats so different for the rocket launcher? I mean surely MC could just pour the fuel into a new canister like he can rip open a sealed case put a new rocket in there and close it so it still works when he loads it in the rocket launcher.
If your complaining about the SMG then ignore that.
I don't care about the reloads, all i care about is that the SPv2 gets finished before I go to Las Vegas, which is August 6th.
The difference is that the rocket launcher is a weapon that everyone likes to use but it comes with only a maximum of 8 rounds to begin with. Your method of reloading will just decrease that number or make the player even more vulnerable. While the flamer is also a fun weapon, i doubt that people would prefer to use that instead of the rocket launcher. Also, the flamer is not in any short amount of ammo. You can hold around 4 canisters of fuel that each gives you 100 points to fire. The flamer was also very overpowered in some situations, especially in multiplayer. It all goes back to gameplay and balancing it out. Sure, you might say the rocket launcher will be stronger than the flamer no matter how you look at it, but how many times have you missed a speeding warthog with it, or a single oponent in a full server that lags? The flamethrower can just be held down with a steady stream of fire that does damage even after you stop firing.
And I dont know where this whole "the drum is vacuum sealed and there is no way in hell that it can be opened to refit other rockets" idea. Are you looking through a wiki or halo dictionary or something? If so, I would very much like to see it. It is also as much possible that the drums could just be as easily opened on a hinge and fitted with other rockets. Have you notice that ammo laying around the ground in the tan cases do not fit the dimensions to hold the bulky mid sections of the drums but rather just 2 individual rockets? Others might say that "well i dont see MC changing out individual rockets during the animations" but that goes the same with all the other weapons, and almost every other game thats been released by real publishers.
But i dont want to miss out an entire WTFsnoobage just beacause i reload. More rocks = moar Fun!
Screw realism.
yea i gotta agree with delta and noobbooze there, i'd much rather have more rockets than realism, dude, it's a game where there are superhumans wearing shielded suits that can leap 3m into the air, and they're firing weapons at spacealiens that invaded earth and halo, i see no realism there. MORE ROCKETS!
If the fuel for the flame thrower is stored in a sealed container with only a valve to let fuel exit, that implies that it is stored as a liquid under pressure, and exits as a gas. Therefore, the canisters may have their contents transfered because in the manual it is stated that it is an adhesive, which implies it being in a more tangible form from a gas, and as such, does not require a gas canister to contain it, allowing its contents to be transferred.
Thus, more ammunition available .
I wish it were true in SPv2. +Rep for sharing that.
I think the Flamethrower needs more range.
I would agree, but CMT actually took away the extended igniter (notice how it just looks like a maimed stub in snow grove) and that would realistically decrease the range. I don't understand why they did that when the default flamer didn't even look as weird. Not to mention it doesn't even make sense to have a design like that for such a volatile weapon. The users will have a greater chance of setting themselves on fire let alone smoke some grunts :/
I agree with you Delta. But I actually like the look of the newer flame thrower better than the old one. The nozzle just looked to weird in my opinion. Maybe if they redesigned the nozzle? (Or quite possibly the entire gun. It just looks odd in general to me)
Though I wouldn't say it needed a farther range. Seems fine to me for a flamethrower.
i think the new flamethrower was just fine, just that the shark like sticker/paint needs to go....in my eyes, it looked kind of like a toy.....a very dangerous toy....
I just hope there'll be a nozel at all this time around... The newer flamer right now does look kinda cool, but just not practical.
You guys take things way to seriously.
How else are we supposed to take things? We're all tense with the hopefully soon release of SPv2 and to see who's right and who's wrong in these debates when it comes to CMT's final dicisions.
wow is that spratan gonna be used in the cmapiaghn itb looks sick
looking good how r thpouse spartans going
Why did you double post? I mean the edit buttons there for a reason........
Good advice there. Pay heed to it and you will save yourself alot of trouble here.

Wow, man...wheres Tru7ths sig when you need it. Ignorance = Global Warming. It's freaking everywhere.
one question: what does any of this have to do with SPv2? Let's get back on topic, shall we?
+rep for you for saying that.
AAAnnyyyways. I have some questions. Will the Spiker eject Mags like in the current MP maps? or will it be taken out from the bottom? And the AR, can you guys rotate it to the left like 2-5 degrees? Also, it would be nice to get rid of the lines that move along the AR ammo meter. Also, the Spikes are too... weird. I don't think that they should be as noticeable when you stare at a spiked corpse. =] just suggestions though. (atleast not that shade of yellow! maybe a more metallic color.)
Okay I'm not going to answer this in full detail so heres a summed up version.
Current Spiker was made when only reference shots were here.
CMT had no idea how the animations worked.
Reworked Spiker is here and theres a thread somewhere buried here.
Or at least I think thats how it happened.
And the AR was redone completely too.
Oh sorry, wasn't aware that anyone posting from a public PC was automatically me.
Unless you have any substantial evidence - which you don't - I suggest you quit with the childish and rather pointless accusations. He's done his fair share of trolling me, too. Then again, I guess you overlooked that since it might actually prove you wrong.
Better to stay silent and be thought an idiot than to open one's mouth and prove it, Masters. If it was me, don't you think I'd have got in shit for breaking the no alt rule by now?
Edit:
Oh, I don't suppose you took the time to examine the rest of the duplicate IPs by any chance? Well, obviously you didn't, because if you had you would have noticed that - as jcap showed me not so long ago - it lists Rosco and rec0 under the same IP. Now unless you want to make yourself look like even more of a fool in front of everyone, I seriously doubt even you would claim they're just the same person. They've never even met as far as I know, they just live near each other.
Don't jump to conclusions, thanks. And don't force me to hunt down any more of your ignorant allegations and set them straight, either. I have better uses for my time than to clean up after you stupidly decide to announce something without verifying whether it's fact or not first.
Ross, Masterz, hush both of you. This isn't the thread to discuss internetz kunspirasees.
I have a question, I think this may have been addressed before, but upon reviewing CAD's Splazer video, I noticed something that put me off. Will there be a covie Carbine in SPv2?
darn, the carbine is one of my favorite weapons. Oh well, still can't wait to play SPv2.
ahh sry typing too fast xD
