It doesn't seem any different than the animations they did for the previous seasons, just more sophisticated.

I see awesome-sauce CGI.
That weekly challenge was epic. My friend and I were able to make it through that falcon rail-shooter segment without a scratch.
Also, god damn it Bungie why the hell can the banshee flip every two seconds?
Okay that trailer made no sense to me (havent watched RvB for years, last I heard about was revelations or reconstruction something.)
Halo 2 was the best series!
Blood gulch chronicles. Only way to go.
It's less charming when they actually have tools to make the production easier.
I for one, am looking forward to how they use their new found resources/tech to tell a story. It fills a hole that the tossed aside Halo movie and non-existent PC ports left behind.
The hornet chase scene looked epic.
Just got my official Perfection medal. Yay! super happy fun time!
Blue team got their shit slapped.
was this AFTER you raged quit on condemed?
also i got one before you
edit:

Classic is up. AR/Pistol starts is fun, but the DMR/NR gametype is garbage. And what the hell, no objective gametypes? Slayer is so boring. Hang 'em High is an awful map. Derelict has always been an awful map. Their Halo 2 versions were much better. Beaver Creek is fun though. Lockout is great. Warlock is okay.
No u. Hang 'Em High was a fucking amazing map.
How can the game type be classic with the DMR/PL/NR/PRepeater/CR/GL/Splazer/anything else new to the universe after Halo 1? Or even after Halo 3? The point of "Classic" is to make it closer to the oldies. I hate the DMR in MP. It really just screwed the system after all of the bitching from the Beta.
Not in Reach.
Team Classic has confirmed my belief that Reach really needs a (balanced) battle rifle. A proper one too, none of that bloom crap. Also a pistol with 2 more shots per mag. And shield bleed-through, or at the very least, two melees to take down full shields. And that the game is much more fun without armor lock. Also that Reach is FUBAR.
Still, I'm not touching Classic again until they scrap NR/DMR starts and add objective gametypes. Hopefully some of the custom maps get put into regular matchmaking circulation. Lockout is just as good as Asylum or Pinnacle.
The Hang 'Em High map variant that's in the playlist is much too big. If the scale of the map was smaller, I think it would play much better. Right now it's quite difficult getting around the map without being killed too easily. I was quite impressed with the Lockout and Damnation variants, and I do like the Rat Race and Wizard variants too. I really hope that there'll be a Big Team Classic playlist.
I never liked Hang em High personally. It's better without Pistol starts (in Halo 1), but when everyone has mid range weapons you can't really go anywhere on the map without getting spammed from all angles... it just becomes a mindless strafe fest.
FFFFFFFFFFFFF, just because Bungie calls it "bullet bloom" or something stupid doesn't mean we need to follow suit. Use the correct terminology instead of incorrectly shortening it and making those of us that are using "bloom" properly in reference to graphical bloom confused.
Your "bullet bloom" is actually called "bullet spread".
No one cares about bullet spread. No one cares if the pistol gets increasingly inaccurate when you hold down the trigger; they care if it stays inaccurate after you let go. Spread has always been in the games, but the "bloom" mechanic is new. No one calls it spread because they already call spread spread.
Then call it bullet bloom, it's not bloom.
Also, if it stays inaccurate it's not emulating anything that would happen in a realistic situation let alone anything made up. I mean maybe if it's directly correlated with how damaged you are it would make sense, the more screwed up you are because of battle the less accurate you'll be. The only other situation I think it could possibly apply to would be barrel-warp due to heat, but shortly after your weapon starts becoming inaccurate it would blow up in that case. That rarely occurs with modern firearms let along firearms that are supposed to be existing 500 years from now.
I'm sorry, but CoD was on your left, 200 miles back. This is Haloland. An inherently, non-realistic game because it's suppose to be fun (yes, of course 'fun' is opinion based, shut the fuck up) not some "modern warfare".
It's called bloom because that's what your reticule (a UI element) does to visualize to the player an underlying technical implementation. That implementation dynamically increases the bullet spread the faster you shoot your weapon, so no, it's not just bullet spread. Previous games didn't even relay their true bullet spread to the player because you could still have shots fall outside the area in your reticule.
Also, if people hate all of these Reach elements, why don't they just go back to Halo 3? It gets kind of old hearing the same complaints, over, and over...
I don't play any Halo's except Halo 1, so I've gone about as far back as possible.
Apparently Bungie disabled weapon (and grenade) pickup in Firefight Arcade. Spending 15 minutes with the same two weapons is so incredibly boring. I thought Bungie was finally starting to improve their gameplay decisions, but screw this.
I never understood why they didn't separate the weapon & grenade pickup options. However, for FFA, it gets seriously annoying when randoms you match up with just pick up the first fucking FRG they find then just spam targets with it. Would have been nice to have weapon set options. So you could set what kinds of weapons you could pick up (on top of weapons you specifically from what you spawn with). So you can disable "heavy" weapon pickups while leaving medium and small weapons up for grabs.
Additionally, they could have made a pickup option to where you can't pickup weapons dropped by the AI/enemy (it would apply to all engines). So you could still have weapon drops but couldn't just pick up w/e from a grunt you killed.
If only their megalo script could be used in FF.

The FRG spam was somewhat annoying, but only really on smaller maps during Fistfight or Sniperfight. Even then, you just had to pick a different side of the map, and I can't recall the last time I was ever really bothered by it. As much as I like infinite ammo plasma launchers and grenade launchers, everyone (including myself) gets bored with them by the second round. I can't help but think that everyone's just going to vote FRGfight and Rocketfight now.
EDIT: My friend's a masochistic bastard so we're played Classic again. At least the Longest remake uses the Elongation layout, even if the size is too small. Rifles is still terrible. The settings have too many annoying quirks, since there's no way to change any specific weapon properties.
Double posting because I found this too funny.
I would just like to say that Classic Rifles fucking blows, and that the community is retarded for always picking that over regular Classic Slayer
/rage
No, but on a less raging note, I've only played regular Classic Slayer once or twice, the most memorable being on Prolonged, which was the best Halo Reach experience I've had in a while. Classic Rifles pretty much sucks, especially on small maps like Magus.
Has anyone played the new MLG playlist yet? I played it like twice and the maps just seem to promote DMR/NR spam and on the maps I played I don't think there was even another weapon.
That's basically what MLG does. Their Halo 3 playlist was the same way. Small maps with virtually no cover and scarcely a weapon other than the BR.
And that's why MLG sucks...
Basically, until they remove the DMR starts from DLC maps and actually make the Classic playlist classic, then I probably won't renew XBL anytime soon. I think the game is perfectly fine and operable without DMR starts. It's the shallow who whine about wanting faster kill times and quantity of points (hence DMR) over map-movement and quality gameplay. I can agree with the melee too. This sort of issue really makes me want Reach to have Dedicated Custom game Servers.

The stupidity in that thread is beyond reckoning.
Oh god, this is why I don't touch bnet. I think I'm just going to stay here. Other forums scare me.
Did you guys see the thread about killing all BOB's in Reach unlocks the defiant DLC helmet (which is not in the map files from what I could find). It made me and sev wanna cry and people bitched at me for being right. Idiocy of b.net
BELIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVE
I liked it better when everybody looked the same. There was less bitching and moaning about things that have no effect on game-play. Spoiled kids these days...
I wish they would add some sort of Covenant pieces or something in Forge. I'm tired of everything looking the same.
Why has this kid not been banned yet? Clearly hes circle jerking.
Or he's using a XIM 3 :)
When I get mine I'll rape all controller scrubs.

Wow theres some absolutely stunning screenshots entered this week.
Halo Chess.
How it works will soon be mine!
When it's your turn you go to the piece you want to move and you should turn into said piece.
Does this seriously work? Shit I guess it wasnt an april fools after all. Hopefully pimps at sea is tho.
Glad to hear Bungie at least recognizes that BTB needs work. Some nice cut multiplayer announcements too.
You can tell just by looking at the first person models of the characters and the lack of death animation in the Chess game that it's not a polished gametype. I dunno how the person who found it did so (don't get me wrong, I love that they did), but I'd sure like to know how they got it into a downloadable gametype.
It's a Bungie game variant.
Also, Megalo scripts.
So now with them putting out these new gametypes, there's a chance they can be dissected and we can create our own, yes?
You know, in light of these new gametypes I seem to remember a certain Shock120 saying it's not possible to make new game types and the ones shipped with the game were the only "new" types we would be getting.
Yeah, they've mentioned on several occasions that it's possible and much easier this time around to add in new gametpyes, hence the addition of Speedflag and Haloball into matchmaking as well.
So turns out last years April Fools was actually not faked? :O Epic
That is awesome. I'll definitely have to learn how to play.
Omg, I LOVE Team Classic , bringing back the legends on Halo 1. We need to get a game night going where we party up and use the Halo emblem and rape the noobs who have no idea what the level layout is :D
Haha just ,owned the other team (tho we lost 49-50) on RatRace, gotta love those teleporters to take you across map.
my GT is "thekillerdonut"
if im online, hit me up and ill play.
All MP game variants are entirely scripted. Slayer, CTF, etc they're all designer built game variants (including all their options). The variants themselves define their category so that's how they're able to slap in the new "Insane" category.
If 343 sets out to make a traditional Halo game (e.g. Halo 1-3/Reach), hopefully they add in support for fully integrate-able DLC content like vehicles or weapons or abilities, as well as allow weapon-specific properties to be tweaked (e.g. set DMR damage separately from AR damage, tweak sticky grenade detonation time, frag grenade blast radius and falloff, enable/disable shield bleedthrough with melees, separate melee damage options for health and shields, that sort of thing). It would've been nice if Classic settings could actually emulate the classic games without needless quirks like overpowered snipers and grenades or DMRs instead of BRs.
It would just be so cool to load up Halo Reach and have (essentially) the Halo 2 experience, right there in the playlist options, tied to the modern interface, armory, credit, and stat-tracking system of Reach. Hopefully 343 will be less stingy about maps too.
Either 343 is going to go in a new direction with Halo (risky, might lose older audience, might gain newer audience), or stick with what works (if people keep on buying CoD when each year brings minimal updates to the formula, they'll keep buying Halo too). If 343 goes with the latter option, either they will have to come up with some innovative twist on the formula (such as Halo 2's dual-wielding, Halo 3' equipment, or Reach's armor abilities and loadouts) which will be hard to do, or they'll have to give players more modes, gametypes, settings, weapons, vehicles, and maps to play around with.
I remember reading in a few places that 343 was gonna stick to the base of Halo, but make some twists on it in the same style as every other Halo game. I'll try to find the interviews, but no promises.
Perhaps an EK so people can make and sell their own maps over XBL. :dream:
Revelation: Polar Bear posts more at Bnet than at Modacity. :O
Thqh, this is all that really needs to happen. With little exception, each new 'twist' on the gameplay has just fucked it up even more. Keep the core gameplay intact, but dress it up with a modern interface and extras, and give us tons of customization options. For example, things like boarding, dual wielding, evenperksarmor abilities could be gametype specific options with their own playlist.
Give me Battlefield: Halo or I'm gonna bitch.

Kill streak rewards? Hell no. Works well in CoD, but not something that should be put into Halo.
But I'm liking Pookie's suggestions there about specific gametype options that go in depth like that. That way, the game would always feel fresh depending on what you're playing, and if somebody wants to go for a more Halo 2 feel with dual wielding but no equipment, then give them the option I say.
Oh, and more Elite customization options would be awesome too.
Clearly. But, I like the idea of maps taken from different environments in the Halo 'verse.
Harvest, Madrigal, Jericho VII, Chi Ceti IV, Arcadia, Sigma Octanus IV and especially Onyx in the Zeta Doradus system.
Harvest for example, something seems beautiful and suspenseful about sprinting through a golden field of crops, being tailed by a banshee while JOTUN harvesters are scrambling above you, maybe Mack firing the Mass Driver in the background?
Yeah, I have to agree with you on that, and it's something that Reach should have had instead of all it's multiplayer maps being a part of the campaign. Then again, the Defiant Map Pack did really well in this area, since both maps represent parts of events in The Fall of Reach and First Strike (being Gamma Station and Big Horn River/the crashed Pelican that all the Spartans were in).
There were no reason really that they couldn't have left duel wielding as a option for customs.
I think if they had left it in we might see alot more creative game types.

Beat LNoS on Mythic with a friend last night. Oh Jorge, I hate you so much.
"Is there any place the Covenant isn't?!"
God damn it Jorge, of course the Covenant are in space. How the hell else did they get to Reach?
Also Community BTB is up. Most of the maps I've played so far aren't great, but they beat Hemorrhage and Paradiso. Barely. One was a map set in the canyon with banshees and falcons, but the flight ceiling is an instant kill zone. That's criminally poor design right there. 30 seconds into the match it was -1 to -3.
Why don't they put Asylum, Pinnacle, and Reflection in the Classic playlist? Also how about some Halo 3 maps?
What's wrong with Asylum? It seems fine to me.
I could spend hours talking about how bad Asylum is, but to keep it simple, any map that ships with a game that has z-fighting clearly visible in many areas is half-assed.
PlayingMontanaCommunity BTB
Montana Gambit: On Montana. Pretty enjoyable. Straightforward layout, good size, nice CE vibe.
Ridged: On Montana. Awful. Spawns are broken too. Someone on my team got a killionaire spawn camping.
Renegade: In the Canyon. An improvement over Hemorrhage, but I still wouldn't call it a good map.
Outcrop: Montana. Doesn't have much of a flow to it, but not terrible. Just not interesting.
Bendarius Ridge: Montana. Like Montana Gambit if Montana Gambit were a terrible map. The bridges between each side have no cover, so there's no movement other than with vehicles. I hope you like hiding in your base once half your team leaves and you have an enemy falcon hovering over your head.
Rift: Once again, on Montana. I hope you like DMRs and banshees. Map seems too open and too long.
Why the hell are there so many BTB maps in Montana? Yeah, sure, I've wanted to see some maps made there since the game came out, but having every map but one being there, and then having the other one being in the same spot and Hemorrhage? Yeah...no...I was expecting some creative use of the island, or the tunnel area between the canyon and island.
Help b.net kiddies being retarded yet again about the mysterious DLC Armor that 343i posted a picture of.

I cant find a texture of it but I can't say the same for the model file for the spartan, the only people I know of that can say that is zteam.
There's no model data for it. Fucking 343i, I wish they would have stuck with retail game builds for taking PR shots :ugh:. Not like the internet needed more dramorama...
