yeah i remember people inviting me to global thermonuclear war lobbies on xbl. they all wanted 1600 ms points for it though, and thats like 20 bucks. fuck that shit and fuck their shit. it did look fun though.
and is that barebones playlist on xbl? i havent put mw2 into my xbox for over 3 months now. i figure im on summer break and i dont feel like being in a fowl mood
E: odx i saw the knife in the video. what im saying is that the throwing knife in mw2 at least required the skill to lead the knife in order to hit your target. now theyve taken that concept and gotten rid of the skill element essentially making the knife just as easy to use as bullets
thats another thing that bothers me. in cod4, weapons almost took skill to use. ALMOST (im looking at you m16 and m40a3 acog whores). weapons like the ak47 were difficult to use at range because there was noticeable visual recoil that made tracking your target difficult. the m14 is another example. it is animated so its firing animation causes the weapon to move off target, making it significantly more difficult to aim with than, say, the g3 or g36c. by choosing a more powerful weapon like the ak47, you suffer diminished ability to engage targets that are further away, whereas with the g36c, you can fire very accurately but do alot less damage.
mw2 takes this formula and removes the recoil. the two guns i use the most frequently in mw2 are the tar21 and the fal. like the m14, the fal is semiautomatic, and thus does more damage at the cost of firing speed and having to pull the trigger "manually" for each shot. UNlike the m14, the fal has almost no visual recoil, and therefore i can engage targets further away firing as fast as i please. id also like to mention how mw2 does NOT have a firing cap (at least that im capable of reaching). much like the ak47, the tar21 advertises an automatic rate of fire and very high damage (arguably the most powerful assault rifle in the game) at the cost of accuracy at range. in theory, the stats reflect this. in practice, because of the lack of recoil, the tar21 can hit people just as far away and just as accurately as the fal. thus i ask, what is the point of a highly accurate but less damaging gun like the acr?
tl:dr, as cods move on, they become easier and easier to play, taking more and more skill elements out. what it really has come down to is knowing where to be at what time, and camping. thats it. its fucking bullshit.
